[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love NARS Soft Matte Foundation! I am 49 y/o and mother to a 7 y/o and was diagnosed with melasma a year after my son was born. I'm not yet menopausal so still using birth control pills. This is the best coverage of you can find the perfect primer/moisturizer combo for your skin. I have combination skin with large pores around my nose and cheek area. I use a moisturizer on my dry areas (cheeks) and a primer on my T-zone, and the (now discontinued) Clinique pore filler, and after a few minutes, I use a dense foundation brush to stipple on one layer of this foundation. I feel like if I put more than one layer, it gets a little cakey on my moisturized and primed skin. It gives me a nice medium coverage over my melasma on my chin, upper lip, and cheeks. I still see some brown shadows on my cheeks but after I apply my bronzer and blush, it's barely noticeable.

I bought this foundation few months back. I absolutely love the NARS Soft Matte Complete Foundation! It gives me a flawless, smooth finish that lasts all day without looking cakey or feeling heavy. As someone with combination skin, I really appreciate how it controls shine without drying me out.

This product is the closest match I've found for myself, very fair and just slightly yellow without it turning orange. Doesn't oxidize on me at all. Make sure your skincare routine includes proper moisturizing and exfoliation, as this can cling to dry patches.

I bought both as I usually mix them to get my perfect shade in the LR foundation, but found I could have just gone with Gobi in this foundation. A little goes a long way - I need maybe three drops for my entire face. Make sure your skincare routine includes proper moisturizing and exfoliation, as this foundation will definitely show if I've been slacking.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I found myself with a shade that was too light. I ordered the next shade darker and it was a little too dark. I now mix the two with a touch of light moisturizer to help with blending. I think I'm good now.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have combo skin and have tried and wasted so much money on numerous products that claim they are for oily/combo skin, but they all looked cakey and didn't last past lunch; I was always touching up my makeup. NARS is amazing!!! It lays on my skin very well, the coverage is awesome, and it lasts throughout the day. I do have to touch up around my nose and my chin toward the end of the day, but I think that is partly due to getting a new toner and moisturizing routine down.

I'm normally a big Nars fan and was excited to try this as I've seen lots of MUAs recommend it however I was so disappointed. It looks nice when it's first applied but this does not last long!! By the time I get to work it's separated and looks oily and patchy. I've tried lots of combinations to try and make it work - with and without primer, with and without setting powder but the result is the same regardless. Gutted it's such a waste of money and shocked at how poor quality the product is from a company like Nars.
