the competitors advertise their cane rods are heavy duty, but they aren't as heavy duty as this one.

Worked perfect for my new shed doors. Had to add an extra piece of lumber to my shed doors but that is not the fault of the j bolts. Very easy to install. Door open just drop them and force in ground a bit. When ready to close doors just lift up and turn to put in bracket to keep them up. Seem to be sturdy enough.

The black plated finish camouflages it a bit for added protection. It comes with the cane bolt, mounting hardware, and 4 tough screws. The instructions on the back help even the DIY novice install it properly.

We have a 20' gate opening which is covered with a 16' gate and a 4' gate. We use this cane bolt on the 4' since it doesn't get opened very much. I will say that when the 16' gate closes it can hit with a good amount of force and this cane bolt so far has held up and is not showing any signs of bending.

It needed a new lock as well as a few other parts so I liked the look of the cane bolt so I used it. Needless to say it works great, its very strong and not only keeps it locked closed but also holds it open when I need it to. Great job.

I found it a bit difficult to install, maybe my fingers couldn't get angled properly but it seemed to take ages! Once installed however, it's quite right and operating like a dream. The cane bolt does a super job!
