Exactly as described. Only thing that would make it better, if there were limits in the bolt so it doesn't slide all the way down. Easy to install.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After putting in a new gate, the regular handle and latch were not enough to help secure the base of the gate - this is perfect. Not only does it help secure the bottom of the gate but reduces the risk of the gate becoming offset due to being pushed in/out at the bottom. Very easy to install but effective and simple solution.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We got this product in pretty fast so we were able to put it to use quickly. We have a 20' gate opening which is covered with a 16' gate and a 4' gate. We use this cane bolt on the 4' since it doesn't get opened very much. I will say that when the 16' gate closes it can hit with a good amount of force and this cane bolt so far has held up and is not showing any signs of bending.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have 2 pairs of very tall (12 ft) split barn doors, opposite each other at ends of barn and have been looking for way to tighten them up, particularly when wind is blowing. This latch is providing us an answer-- seems to work well for what we need-- will purchase 3 more and things will tighten up considerably
