I'm a health-conscious college student who needed a healthy loaf of bread for making a quick & easy lunch (or dinner) and Nature's Own Ancient Grain Small Loaf answered that call! The name "Ancient Grain" caught my attention in the store and I have to admit, I'm impressed! It's not overly-crunchy like most other multi-grain breads, it's still very soft, and it tasted delicious (it has a semi-sweet taste profile.) This bread pairs well with honey ham, provolone, and mayonnaise especially. I'd recommend this bread for anyone who wants to eat healthier but isn't a huge fan of traditional whole-wheat or multi-grain breads. Also, the small-loaf aspect was a big selling point since it doesn't take up much space in the dorm's kitchen cabinets.
Nature's Own Non GMO Small Ancial Grain Bread is soft %26 Chewable not highly grainy. It tosted well brown in color at aound 4 or medium toaster setting. I make Avocado sandwich with hummus tomatoes cucumber cheess slice with boiled potaoes and sauce. Very Delicious %26 satisfying bread. The Small is better than regular big size bread.
Frankly, I'm surprised that I like this bread because I usually prefer seedy, more robust breads. This one makes really good sandwiches, the slices are thick so toast nicely, and the half-loaf is just right for our household. The ingredients are relatively wholesome and taste good, so I will purchase this bread again.
So I started buying this because nobody was eating the full sized loaf, I don't believe in wasting food, I know what it's like to be hungry and have no food, my kids don't, but there are hungry children and people in our country and it's a shame to waste in my honest opinion. So I started buying this to cut down my budget and to cut down on food waste in my home. This bread is delicious for no matter what it is used for. I had to go back to full sized bread for a time because my kids decided to have me buy this size every 3 days. This is a great size if y'all don't eat bread everyday, or have 3 hungry teenagers that are growing like weeds and want to eat everything in sight.
The attraction initially was the size, as it is "small" but it is a better match for the size of deli meats. It has a mild taste, so is great for peanut butter, grilled cheese and all meats, adding a little flavor, but not an overwhelming taste that takes away from whatever is added. It is great toasted also. We tried several breads lately, and now this is the only one we buy.
It's surprisingly difficult to find decent sandwich bread, but I think this variety does a pretty good job. Not too dry, and doesn't taste bland. There is a few seeds in there too to add some extra texture, but nothing too crazy. Worth a try.
I like this bread because of the choice of grains, the texture, the taste, and the freshness. I wish it would be offered in a full loaf as well as a half loaf because sometimes I want a larger size.
I keep bread in fridge, this didn't hold up. Actually began molding by day 4 ( in fridge immediately after delivery). Rather gross. Walmart delivery does have tendency here to not bother with checking fresh/ expiration dates and I frequently receive bad products, bent %26 open containers. Wish I had a better alternative. But seriously Walmart, do better
I was really disappointed in this purchase! “Ancient grains” I expected a rich whole grain bread with lots of seeds and delicious flavor! I got none of that! It's a bland mass produced airy loaf of nothing! I won't buy it again!
there were worms in the bread. I threw it away.
