Honestly the first time i tried this bread after my boyfriend accidently grabbed it from the store a couple years ago instead of my normal (not going to put here, because they still are my 2nd favorite bread) i have been hooked. Definitely a favorite of our house!!
I love this bread because it can take on sandwiches that needs extra strength - like a thick tuna salad sandwich or damp and heavy combos like melted swiss and ham heated. When thin bread doesn't do what you need, this is the go to bread for thicker sandwiches when you don't want a bun.
In Europe, most people love their bread to be thickly sliced. My husband is Dutch, and he didn't really take to the thinly sliced American bread like Wonder, etc. When I saw this bread for the first time at Ralph's Grocery Store, I got it and it didn't disappoint. Now, it's the only bread we get unless the grandkids are over (they like their "tostis" with thin white bread slices and American singles). Since my husband is the biggest bread eater in our household, we mostly buy only this bread and Walmart always has it in stock. Couldn't be happier!
This is delicious bread. You can eat a slice as a snack with absolutely nothing on it. Don't keep it too long. though. Try to eat it up, as it will grow mold if kept too long on the shelf. especially in this warm weather. It is good for stuffing, too. Yummy.
The generous thickness and size of each slice elevates this commercial brand's bread to premium quality at a reasonable price. I appreciate that the bread isn't doughy or "wet". It's airy even with the thick and generous slices. It's dusted with flour on top to give it interest and artisan flair and taste. I like my peanut butter or PB%26J sandwiches on this particular white bread. It elevates both to a delightful, filling, satisfying lunch experience!
I stumbled upon this brand by accident, as our local store was out of all other bread during prep for a storm, and there were 4 loaves of this left on the shelf. I haven't had any other bread, since! The slices are large and the bread is soft and delicious.
Delicious bread! Reminds me of the bread I grew up on in the 70s and 80s. Taste like real bread and yet still soft. The crust taste like bread also. It’s not bitter like some less expensive loaves today. Even the grandkids eat it and don’t ask for it to be cut off. A little more expensive, but well worth the flavor.
When I found this bread, I fell in love with it and it's the only bread I buy now the fact that it sticks last has really good flavor makes great sandwiches all of the all of everythin when I found this bread, I fell in love with it and it’s the only bread I buy now the fact that it sticks last has really good flavor makes great sandwiches. This very good bread I have recommended it to my two best friends and now they buy it so good stuff this very good bread I have recommended it to my two best friends and now they buy it so good stuff.
Far out date, not tasty because it was stale. I think it had previously been free zen. Slapped a new bag with a far out date and rotated into the stock. This had happen before and I am a bread junkie. Just to let folks know, bread people can be very dishonest.
This used to be my go-to bread. Recently, the quality has taken a clear downturn. It smells sour, tastes stale, and the texture is off compared to what it used to be. Something in the production or distribution chain has changed, and it shows. I relocated from Palm Beach County to Polk County, so it’s possible the product is coming from a different factory or supplier. Regardless of the root cause, the outcome is the same: the bread no longer meets basic quality expectations. I’ve stopped eating it altogether and gave it away. Bottom line, this product no longer delivers, and I’m no longer a customer.
