Nature's Path Organic Breakfast Cereal, Heritage Flakes®, 33.5oz Box

Heritage flakes have been a long-time favorite for a quick breakfast. This is a very large box for me since I'm the only user in the household and I eat less than the full cup serving. I couldn't resist the value so I froze half the box and keep the rest in a storage container in the fridge.

I would prefer these were not organic so the price would be lower, but this is pretty affordable when you look at the price per ounce and not as costly as other 'organic' offerings. I have bought and reviewed their smaller packages before and my favorite is the version with pumpkin seeds. The texture of this heritage blend is firm but very satisfying. The taste and after taste is very satisfying as though it is in fact extra nutritious. I put a bit of wild blueberries (thawed in the microwave) on all my cereals. Also note that these are very dense and filling so a box goes a long way, like granola. They don't get soggy fast but I like to let them soak for at least a minute before eating. I do have one major gripe, their willingness to pay the extortion scheme for that "Non-GMO" label license. It is part of the fear mongering marketing campaign of the organic industry which inflates prices so you you get less for more. There are no GMO versions of any of the grains in this cereal except wheat, and we don't grow GMO wheat in the US.

I like this cereal because it's organic, no artificial flavors, colors, etc. and contains a large variety of grains and flours. One cup provides 5 grams of protien. The ingredients list cane sugar and honey, but the cereal is not sickly sweet. I often add raisins or dates or other fruit, just to make it a little more interesting. It's also reasonably priced for an organic cereal.

Heritage Flakes is such a delicious crunchy cereal! Everyone at our house loves it. Not a bad price for the size compared to other organic brands but as with everything these days, I wish it were less expensive. Still, it's a healthy option that I can count on to offer my family. So glad WM offers it in this size! Delicious with nuts, cinnamon and vanilla extract!

I frequently purchase this so when it was up as a Walmart cash offer, I jumped on it. Great product, genuine recommendation. Your children may not find it as sweet if you are trying to move them from sugary or unhealthy cereals, but their taste buds can adjust. The fiber content, crisp, mouth-feel all make it a food choice for trying to introduce to your family But surprisingly for a company known for discounts and low prices, I would not buy again from WM but it is available in sale frequently at competitors but as far as I can see, not to order. If a store has a local clearance or you see it somewhere at a good price, do buy!

I'm not a big cereal fan. I prefer my family have fresh fruit and yogurt or scrambled eggs with veggies for breakfast. But for quick mornings this is a good option. The ingredients are clean. The cereal is crunchy and goes well with almond milk and sliced banana on top.

At first glance, it seems overly expensive, but at 160 calories times 22 servings per box, which is over 3,500 calories worth of wholesome, organic food, it's totally worth the price. If you don't like 100 percent whole grain foods and you're used to eating too much sugar, you may feel that it "tastes like cardboard," in which case, it's probably not for you. But I accustomed my tastebuds to eating more whole grains and less sugar years ago, and I LOVE the taste of Heritage Flakes. With wild blueberries and whole milk, it is my favorite meal most days.

Good price for organic cereal. This is basically the only cereal we eat in our family. Big crunch. Wholesome ingredients. Great flavor. Happy to support family owned Nature's Path, and pray it will hold out against the big corporate cereal companies.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have loved your Harvest Flakes cereal for a long time. But the last three boxes have had these hard kernels that can chip or break teeth. I know…filling scheduled next week. Please increase the quality control. Love crunchy but don't overdo it! If this keeps up, no more purchases. I give you 4 score out of historically good until recently.

I loved buying this when I was vegan back in 2016 or so. Decided I wanted to try it again 10 years later. What a massive mistake. The flavor is...not there at all. It's PAINFULLY bland. The texture is crunchy but inconsistent. There are a bunch of these defect, hard little rock pieces. Feels like you may chip a tooth. Also it's ultra dry, like eating sand. Gritty and it rips the moisture out of your mouth. 10 minutes in milk and it's not soggy...how? I put in for a refund for one box. It's shocking to see how far down the "healthy brands" have fallen. Many have been bought by mega corporations. I do not recommend this product at all. Actually, I encourage you to avoid it.
