My dog is a Picky Eater I have to put a topper on her dry dog food for her to eat it this dog food she started to eat immediately not sure how long this is going to last, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Her stool was loose the first day but probably because I gave her too much before she got used to it as for the Ingredients they look very good nothing artificial no harmful grains and even a little bacteria for her gut.

Nature's Recipe dry dog food is a little pricey in my opinion, for my budget anyway, but this is all I feed my dogs because they like it and do well with it. My vet agrees that my dogs are well fed and taken care of %26 I know it is due to this food. I've used other brands, previously with other pets and their health hasn't been near as good as my current pets.

I checked the labels. This is the healthiest!

Anonymous May 27, 2026

I shopped very carefully for food for my dog and read every single label carefully, including vet brands. I chose this and continue to choose this because of its ingredients, real meet and real vegetables, and total nutritional content. This food has more fiber than most. I feel good giving him good protein and veggies that provide important fiber for his gut bacteria, which we're discovering is the center of good health. He has good size, healthy, regular BMs, and I feel extra good about the fiber for those times he eats something I didn't want him to get into. I trust this fiber to at least help carry it out safely and quickly with the bulk from the fiber. Dogs don't eat grains in the wild, so why would I feed my dog grains?! To make some food manufacturer money? Sorry, no. I love this food for many reasons. If I could afford a non-kibble type food with lots of protein and fiber like this one, I would get it, for as far as kibble goes, I think this is the best for the reasons given. The fiber is a big bonus for me and has given me a lot of peace of mind. Best wishes to you and your dog(s)! (Oh, and my dog loves it! I give it to him in water to mimic more natural hydration for his health, twice a day, and I add an Omega 3 fish oil capsule in it for the health benefits of that. Sometimes I add other things, like egg, meat, etc.)

I have a 7 y.o. cattle dog mix Jack Russell and he has a sensitive stomach, I've tried at least 15 different brands and this is the one he loves. it doesn't have all those harmful additives in it and we mix it with real healthy food (boiled chicken, green beans and rice) and he loves it.

Our special needs dog is allergic to so many foods. After going through a lot of different foods, this one didn't upset her at all. No itching, no red ears. She seems much more full as well, not begging me for more food. It is a bit more expensive, but she seems much better off eating it.

No more issues with skin allergies! Plus my blind dog is a very picky eater and she loves this food. She'll eat it plain but her favorite meal includes their brand of wet dog food on top. Smells pretty nasty. (Especially with the wet food) but dang does she love it. Really pleased with the food and value for the price paid.

Switching to Natures Recipe!

Patricia April 27, 2026

Typically use Blue for almost double the price, but ran out. Grabbed this, ingredients nearly the same and dogs seemed to like this better so sticking with it!

My little picky eaters love it. Some have allergies so I always use grain.free food. This is also a small size. That's a must. All around it just fits the bill.

Time For A Change!

Suzanne May 21, 2026

After many years on Blue; and doggie boredom, this seems to encourage better eating. It has no byproduct meal; a must! With a few Tablespoons of wet topper, no hesitation to eat. Comes in the smaller size, too but not much smaller actually…

Helped my dogs allergies but about to price me out

CeeBeecia July 7, 2026

I bought this for my pitbull that has very bad allergies. I have tried every mid to most expensive dog food on the market, and she seems to do the best on this. She gets a monthly allergy shot for her skin issues, but she still breaks out softly on some of the other foods. Most dog foods are crap regardless, but I like this food for her as much as I would recommend any dry kibble. The price has risen almost $10 a bag to $30 for the 12 pound bag. That's ridiculous so I'm not sure how much longer I will keep buying this. It has gotten to the point that it's cheaper to buy fresh or make your own dog food. They seem to like that better anyway.
