I take one just before bed, along with a Melatonin 6 Hour Time Release tablet. The Melatonin alone has never been quite enough to give me more than 5-6 hours, but when I add the l-Theanine the problem of waking early has been solved - I fall back to sleep easily.

It's vegan and great for those with any kind of soy, dairy, and wheat allergies. It's smooth, you can see the powder inside, and it's easy to swallow (I tip my head forward a little). No weird aftertaste either. I like to take it in the morning with my coffee. It takes some of the edge off and lets me slip into focus when I start working. I take two capsules at a time, and on days when I need a second cup of coffee to get me through the day, I take another two capsules. Fortunately, this doesn't interfere with my regular bedtime.

Will not work for all but this does not have a weird after taste and is easily found online which is awesome since most drugstores rarely stock this.
