Nautilus E616 Elliptical

This machine is a far better value than even I expected. Packaging was perfect, delivering a well protected machine with no broken or missing parts. On the subject of use it is an extremely quiet machine, extremely sturdy and a great workout.

We purchased this based on recommendations of quality, and we did not want all of the unnecessary models that require a subscription to have someone yell at you. This was purchased for my wife who said she can encourage herself, as she has done on similar machines at work another locations, so we purchased this due to its simplicity in that area. The build is very good. We purchased the optional assembly by Handy along with our purchase of this through WalMart. Handy sent a person who was very professional and conscientious in his assembly of our Elliptical. He called about 30 minutes prior to arrival to let us know he was on his way, he dutifully used the instructions that were included in the box with the Elliptical to assure everything was installed according to those instructions. That was especially important as there were actually a couple of steps that were missing in the book, as well as a couple that were in the wrong order. His attention to detail assured the final result was good. Nautilus includes an extra of each component such as nut, bolt, washer, in case needed in the future. They also include a multi-tool which the assembler said was very good and was happily surprised at how well it worked for all of the pieces. He had brought his tool kit and ended up not needing any f the items he brought except for an LED light to better see inside he frame when assembling the wiring. This was the first E616 he has assembled. He just assembled it yesterday so we have not been able to use it much yet, but it is very good. As an additional comment as a purchaser, you may be wanting to get a rug or something to place under the Elliptical, definitely easer to have on hand so it can be assembled on top (the machine weighs 200 pounds, well, I think 198 pounds). We looked and looked and found this at WalMart that seemed like ti would work: (Gray 30x72" Runner Rug Cotton Recycled Reversible Non-Slip Rug for Kitchen Living room, Hallway Entryway, Easy Clean (2.5' x 6'); https://www.walmart.com/ip/Gray-30x72-Runner-Rug-Cotton-Recycled-Reversible-Non-Slip-Rug-for-Kitchen-Living-room-Hallway-Entryway-Easy-Clean-2-5-x-6/619495177). It provides about 1.5" of extra rug outside the parameters of the E616. The installer asked us if the tug came with it and we said, no, we had searched and searched. He said it was a perfect fit so he thought maybe it came with it. It also came in another color at the time we order this, but we chose the gray for ur home. At the time we ordered it, it was about $38 and seemed a good protective "insurance for our wood floor. Sorry fo much information but I am providing it as a purchaser and hope this information helps anyone considering this device.

I've used my nautilus everyday since we purchased it. Its quit, sturdy, easy to use and so far I love it. My one negative is the instruction need to be more detailed on how to operate it. Would recommend.

I use mine a couple times a week, really smooth and comes with a nice price you can afford.

I've had this elliptical for over a year, (actually had to buy a second one b/c the first one had a defect), but the stats on the first one and this one are totally off. It says my heart rate's 198, and that's extremely wrong. There's no way I'm only burning 65 calories in a 30 minute workout. That's the only downside to this machine, and it's happened with both machines.

The machine works fine. Time to assemble was about 4 hours with two people who were not in a hurry. Had we been in a hurry it probably would have been half the time. The instructions have a few difficult spots to understand. Put it in a place that you intend to leave it , as moving it will require some disassembly in most common homes.The operation instructions are also a little difficult to understand. The machine itself seems to be made well. It looks good and is quiet so far. The fan is a little weak. The pulse reader is slow to read. Did not compare reading to another so do not know if it is accurate.It doesn't take long to feel the burn in the legs. This of course would be a personal thing depending on current condition.We are looking forward to working up to at least 30 minutes 3 or 4 times a week as well as increasing the resistance. We are 68 and 70 years of age. It does not hurt our ankles or knees like a treadmill can.We are glad we bought it. There was a delay with the delivery company that Walmart uses. They changed the delivery day 3 times. That was irritating. The two guys that did deliver it were friendly and professional as well as careful with it. We feel that Nautilus did there home work and designed a quality product that we feel will last a long time. Almost forgot, the power cord should have been 3 feet longer if you want to connect it to an outlet to the rear of the machine .It barely extends past the rear support bar. Be carefull and don't pinch the cord under the machine.

The elliptical was fairly easy to assemble, taking me just over 2 hours. The bottom is stable but the top where the control module is shakes when you run. This is an OK model but definitely not gym grade.

The machine is getting only 2 stars because after only using it twice it started making a random clanking sound from the flywheel area. At times it gets very loud. I called customer support and the agent was great but she told me that I would have to buy a crank puller and then take the unit apart myself to troubleshoot it. When I told them that this was very disappointing she told me that they don't send a repair person out until they know what needs to be done. Now I have to spend a few hours taking this apart and working with them on the phone before I even see a repair person. Very dissatisfied!

We bought this machine in October 2021. One day in January 2022, the machine's incline suddenly stopped working and a weird smell started to come. We immediately stopped using it and reported it to Nautilus since obviously the machine is under warranty. It has been >1 month of endless calls and complaints. Nautilus have been horribly slow in responding. Nautilus labor schedule visit takes >2 weeks. It has completely ruined our workout schedule - not for a week but for an entire month and potentially for a couple more. Extremely dissatisfied with the poor product quality and poorer service.
