Difficult assembly.

Jenn December 31, 2021

Difficult assembly. Directions are not in order. For step 5, do NOT attach rim to the backboard first. So this step last.

Inferior base

KevisRS July 27, 2022

No problem with assembling or the backboard like other reviewers had. It’s the base design that’s bad. The plastic is too thin and the wheels are not big enough to keep the base from dragging once it’s filled with water. After assembly and rolling it down the driveway there were holes in the base. No way it will hold water now!

Good product, horrible instructions/assembly!!

Becca May 29, 2022

It’s a really nice basketball hoop but the assembly SUCKED! The instructions were horrible and the holes were all off…we had to cut them bigger to even make things fit how they were supposed to. It wasn’t worth it just because of the nonsense we had to go through trying to put it together.

made 4 nondunkers,

AnnetteStinson June 1, 2022

The base is sturdy and so is the pole. The basketball goal can be adjusted to several different heights. I spent $115 plus tax. That is a bunch to me. I have to earn it. I bought the gial for one of my sons birthdays. The goal did not last 2 weeks. Him and his friends shot hoops, dunked and they like to hold onto the rim. This goal is not designed for that type of use. This particular son is 14 and his friends are the same age. I am not speaking about adults. I would suggest only purchasing for younger groups unless ypu can afford to buy a basketball goal every week. the backboard is made of a very thin plastic composite. The ad saif that the design is a thick polybicarbonate. It is not. Let me be clear, because I am not deceitful. We earn what we have and make purchases based upon true reviews. I wont mislead anyone else. The rim is made of a flimsy metal and cannot sustain, along with the backboard anymore than 35-50 lbs at most. The description and reviews that I saw, do not say such. Within 3-6 uses, the rim was bent, the net was destroyed and the backboard was pulled loose. I managed to assemble another rum that we have along with the net. They haven't tried since. I'm not allowing anymore dunking until I can get them a sturdier backboard and rim. I am warning anyone else who might make the purchase. I do not feel as though the purchase is qualified and worth what I spent. And the instructions were confusing. We had to assemble, unassemble, and reassemble 3 times, seriously, not a joke. I was very patient. My 14-year old, not so much. He was ready to throw things. Thats how frustrating it is. I am more patient. Do not buy this one unless you are patient. I am warning you. And be willing to have breaks and redo several times. And you are going to need channel locks, and adjustable wrenches, and rachets, screwdrivers. The instructions dies come with the appropriate tools. Adding what I suggested will help. I've been through enough. I try to help others. And I hope others do too.

Vague instructions, Bar doesn't fit, but nice pole

Richard October 18, 2021

1) Instructions were vague, not clear. It says to attach hoop to backboard and then attach frame to back of backboard, so it was bolt-hoop-backboard-nut-frame. Problem is that the frame has to be secured by same screw/nut, so we had to undo everything and then re-attach with bolt-hoop-backboard-frame-nut. 2) The bar which holds the base pole was too big for the holes. Luckily, I have a drill and a large bit so I was able to enlarge the hole in the pole so the bar would slide through it (see picture). 3) It was good that I had tools and WD-40, otherwise this assembly would have been a nightmare. As is, it was a 30-minute assembly time that took over 2 1/2 hours. In the end, everything got put together as it should, and my son loves the basketball hoop. So, if you decide to buy this, make sure you have tools to fix any assembly problems you run into and make everything "hand tight" until you are sure each piece is attached in the correct (logical) order !!

Piece of junk

Mandy October 12, 2022

I bought two of these because the first one broke while putting it together. Where the brackets attach to backboard just busted right out. Bought replacement and the first storm that came through broke the backboard in the same place just from wind hitting it. These are poorly poorly made. Would not recommend at all.

What video!?

Amber December 25, 2021

The QE code does not take you to a 3D tutorial video, but this stupid Walmart page. The instructions are vague and the pieces require Herculean strength to make fit. I gave up after an hour. Of trying to fit the pole to the base.

Seam on the water tank is very weak.

Stephanie April 24, 2023

After getting it set up for my son's birthday party and filling the base with water, the seam ont he side of the plastic base literally busted open as soon as one of the kids stepped on it (they're 10, so not some absurd amount of weight). It lasted all of about 5 minutes before it was damaged and just leaked water the rest of the party.

Waste of money

Terrible March 16, 2022

The slightest wind knocks this over. We filled the base with 150 lbs of sand and it still kept blowing over, which ended up damaging the rim. We had another brand prior to this and it lasted 10 years and ever had this problem. Lesson learned…Spend more money to get better quality. This was a waste of money and time putting it together.

Shorty material

Matt December 14, 2022

Do not buy this. It’s a shame because the backboard looks awesome and is a good price but the main post does not even hook up to the base securely. Metal and plastic just don’t go together in general. After seeing other reviews I can believe it when people said theirs only lasted a few days to a week. Just returned ours for a refund.
