Great product.
I order this product by accident, thinking it was nectar with defender in it. When it arrived, I was mad at myself but now I'm glad I made this mistake. Pricey as it may be, it will last a long time as you need just a little bit added to the nectar. I noticed a difference immediately and it not only stayed fresher, longer but the birds seem to love it too cuz they zipped thru the entire thing so fast! When I went to clean it before replenishing, it wasn't funky and slimy as it usually gets. The birds drained the feeder leaving nothing behind cuz it wasn't f funky!
Going on vacation the end of July. I have 3 feeders and was worried about the feeders, until I saw an ad for Nectar defender, I read about it and decided to purchase. I tested it in 1 feeder it seems to work and my hummer seems to like it. The tru test will be when I go away for the week and come back to see how the defender held up in the warm weather. So far so good would recommend using, will purchase again when needed.
Happy with the product but the high cost may prohibit future purchases
This product is necessary if you plan to feed hummingbirds in the north Texas heat.
We love this, because we can go on vacation for a week and not have to worry about our hummers! Highly recommended!
I just used received and used Nectar Defender so I don't know about long term affects. However, I did use it in mixing my nectar concentrate and it was easy to use. It extends the nectar from a few days to 2 weeks of good nectar.ob
This product works but is extremely expensive so I probably won't purchase it again unless I am leaving town for an extended amount of time because I love my hummingbirds and want to make sure they're fed while I am done.
no hummingbirds yet
The birds disappeared over night. I'm not talking about 6-7 birds. I'm talking about 40 or so. I had 5 feeders. I can only pray they didn't die but that many birds overnight? I've been feeding them for about 6 years and I've never had something like this happen. Even during the winter I have a lot of birds. I live in southern California and it can get hot. I clean the feeders daily because I worry about the sugar going bad because it only takes one mold spore to kill a hummingbird. Their tongues swell up and they die from not being able to drink. I decided to try this product because the feeders were starting to smell by the end of one day. I can't say honestly it wasn't worth losing all the birds.
