This center punch actually works. It is very easy to use, does what it is supposed to do, and is a great value. I thought the red knob would be over-kill, but it is actually quite comfortable. Red makes it easy to spot, too (likely going to lay it down somewhere, rather than slip it in a pocket.)

Very handy tool for making drill starter points without the need of a hammer. It can also be easily used with only one hand. It does NOT come with any instructions. To operate, push down firmly on the red handle until you feel it click. This will release the spring loaded mechanism which will force the punch down.

Really nice and good quality. I used it out of the package to help assemble my wardrobe. I used to to punch where I had to insert screws. Worked perfect and effortlessly. I like the large round top. Made it easy to push down. It makes a nice Snap sound so you know it marked the surface.

Bought for my husband,as he doesn't have the strength in his hands that he use too. He says it does a good job and very easy to use.

very useful tool.Great for laying out j-boxes,uni strut,cable tray.It hits hard enough to help keep your drill bits from walking.

Very nice punch. Easy to hold and seems to have a very consistent "punch" for the price. Also like that it is adjustable. Red knob makes it easy to use.

I really like how adjustable it is. I need to mark aluminum, which is quite soft. This allows a softer "hit" than the other spring-loaded punch that I have, which could sometimes bend the thin aluminum sheet.

Works good, for the money I thought it was a good buy.
