I have two senior dogs (14 and 15) who have no interest in playing anymore, however, I just moved into my brother's new home, and he has a very lively 18-month-old terrier named Bert. Bert has to be active 24/7, and even though he's just a little 23 lb. rascal, he goes through his chew bones, toys, and tennis balls in no time. His chew toys, even the so-called "tough" ones which my brother frequently buys him, have been reduced to rags, and he has been known to be very destructive with the furniture and other things he can get his mouth on. So, I saw this on Walmart and ordered it. It arrived the next day (four days ago), and the fun hasn't stopped for Bert or the rest of us who love watching him with it. The Giggle Ball is very durable, and I doubt he'll be able to destroy it anytime soon; he hasn't even shown an inclination to try. He just likes to move it around with his nose and run after it, and I think he gets a kick out of the sounds it makes. To be honest, on the first day, when these photos were taken, he was very hesitant and slow to get used to it. He seemed intimidated by the noises it was making, and he would stand and bark at the thing; however, he soon started gathering a little courage and would slowly approach it. He'd only nudge it with his nose but was too afraid to grab it. That was on the first day, but the next morning, when he found it lying in the living room, he started shoving it around and would try to grab it, but would back off when it moved and made noise. By that afternoon, he was not only grabbing it by the straps, he was carrying it around and bringing up on the couch or my brother's bed. Now, he's chasing the thing all over the house and having a blast with it. I saw a video "review" of the Giggle Ball on TikTok, showing a dog having a similar reaction on the first day, barking at the ball and backing away from it. The dog owner's conclusion and assessment of the Giggle Ball was a simple, "Nope!" If your dog has a similar reaction to the ball at first, my advice is to give them some time. It's something new and different; it makes noises your dog has probably never heard before. I knew Bert would eventually come around and engage more with the Giggle Ball, and I was right. It took a couple of days, but he's having lots of fun with it now. It keeps him entertained, and he's not destroying everything he can get his little jaws around.
I wanted to love this toy so much in fact, it was great for the first five minutes and it would still be great if the center bar didn’t get punctured on the first five minutes of use. The dogs absolutely loved this toy. The only thing that is the problem is the center bar is not strong enough. It got punctured and I didn’t feel safe to let them continue playing with it. I hope this company does something to figure this problem out because I would buy it again
this was actually a replacement purchase an accident actually and it was the BEST accident. Our 200lb St. Benard carries 2 at a time. He absolutely LOVES them. Purchasing more for backups! He greets his momma with them he has NEVER done this (he is 5 years old).
Great for pent up hyper energy. It really helps him flip from negative energy to curious positive energy. It’s very durable and attracts his attention as soon as it rolls with the noises it makes. Very well made and a lot of thought went into this toy. 5 stars all the way. My dog isn’t huge. But he is rough and tough on his toys. Most toys do not survive a day. My nerf dog toys always do. And they always ignite his curiosity.
Dog went hog wild over this! it has speakers i think, so it produces these awful prey distress sounds dogs love. Give it a shot for your little one! Just supervise play if they are wiley. It is plastic, after all!
my dog absolutely loves this toy. bought him one he loved it so much I bought him 4 more! hes very timid and was somewhat scared of it for about 30 seconds then we absolutely crazy and wouldnt put it down.
Weird sounds that scares my dog. Even after rendering the noise makers inoperable he still wouldn't play with it. Bought it to fill an order to $35 to get free shipping ( in spite of my plus account) and then they canceled the item I really wanted. Didn't delay or substitute, canceled. SO stuck with useless toys I didn't really want anyhow.
The idea and design are good. The quality is surprisingly not what I expected from a Nerf dog toy. They’re normally rugged. I do not have a super chewer but my doodle had the inside tubes punctured within a couple mins of chewing which silenced the “interactive” noises. She also had lacerated the plastic outside in a few mins. She’s not a destroyer of toys. I am very disappointed because she was enjoying the toy before she had ruined it with light/moderate chewing. If it was made tougher it would have been a 10/10. If your dog is not a chewer, go for it.
This toy lasted about ten minutes with my Labrador Retriever. He had broke off a piece of plastic on the ball. Nerf customer service was great though and sent us a care package with replacement toys.
It took about 15 minutes for my puppy to chew the orange pieces on the inside that makes the noises, and break them. I was afraid he was going to choke on it. I was going to return it but he plays with the ball without the orange peice that makes the funny noises, so I will keep it. Just be careful the orange piece breaks easy
