It was a bit tricky to assemble needs an adults assistance , but once it's functional it's extremely easy to use . We had fun playing with it for hours together , must say a very interactive toy it is for boys .

And boy the power shot from this is extreme, we have to put it away from our 5 year old boy who was overly excited to play with this

It comes with 6 shots, which is the perfect amount for firing a few before having to reload. It's easy to handle and fairly accurate. It is a little tricky to pull back the loading mechanism but not within the age parameters provided. I will say the design of these bullets seems a lot tougher than the bullets of the past and so their not opposed to leaving a few cheeky marks on bare skin. All in all, I love the Minecraft crossbow. I do use it as one of my go-tos in the family wars.

They have a huge collection of Nerf guns of almost all sizes and types. This Nerf Minecraft Pillager's Crossbow was very appealing to my youngest who is an avid Minecraft fan. This crossbow is quite sturdy and good quality, however it took us some time to figure out how to use it. And then it took quite some practice to make it work in the way my boys wanted, ie to shoot the darts at a speed. It is obviously not as effortless as the Nerf guns are, so do not compare the two or else you'd be disappointed. Overall it's a fun toy for young Minecraft fans.

However, there are a few issues that make it less than ideal for younger kids. The priming handle is a bit stiff, making it difficult for them to pull back before firing. While this isn't a deal-breaker, it does require occasional assistance from an adult. Another frustration comes from the two small pieces on top of the crossbow that frequently come loose. When they detach, it disables the priming handle, and the kids are unable to click the pieces back together on their own. As a result, an adult has to intervene, which can disrupt the flow of play.
