I received this Nerf N-Strike Modulus ECS-10 Blaster to review so I gave it to my nephews to see it being used. He loves it!! It was such a big hit. This Nerf gun came with several different attachments so you can "build your own blaster" as the box says. It can be used with or without the attachments. When all the attachments are on, it makes for quite a large fun gun. This toy dart gun did NOT come with batteries so if you are giving this as a gift, you will need 4 AA batteries. It can't be used without them. There are lots of great features about this gun. It is easy to assemble and easy to learn to use. It is however labeled for ages 8 and up and I would totally agree with that. I wouldn't recommend it for kids younger than that. It included 10 darts which could be a little bit of a downfall because other guns hold 24+ darts. BUT, the dart holder/magazine and darts are universal so others can be used to hold more and use more. That is a nice feature. Some of the other attachments are universal as well, so if something isn't exactly like you'd like, it can always be swapped out for another one. I was also surprised at how far this Nerf gun can shot the darts. Overall, I was impressed with this gun that my 9yr old nephew got to try out. It was great fun and I would recommend this to friends and family looking for a toy for outdoors.
Make. I mistakes, this gun is BIG! Needless to say, my son about jumped out of his skin when he saw it, even though it's bigger than his average 9 year old frame lol. It's pretty lightweight considering its size which is great for the small kids who will want to tote it around but not so great for us parents since we can foresee a break in the future. In fact, it arrives with a black paint smudge and a crack in the magazine already! Nothing my son motives of course but I wasn't overly pleased. Pic included. It's also pretty generic looking. When a plastic gun costs 50 dollars and then has numerous add on options, I would expect more for my money. This is pretty new and has ad on etc but overall I'm not really impressed at all. It's white, orange, blue and plastic. The price does t match the product in my opinion. I think the design needs some work but for the meantime I have a very excited little boy....for the next three days anyway ;)
This Nerf gun is the bomb!! It is sooooo awesome. My son, who is 8, absolutely LOVES it and so do I, and even daddy. We all took turns trying it out and shooting it. We put on the scope to see how straight it shot and if we could actually hit our targets. There are all kinds of ways to use this Nerf gun. You can use it with or without the scope, you can put the handle in a different spot to make it different looking, you can add another bullet holder to it so you have more than just the original bullets waiting to be shot. This is beyond awesome. My husband and I have to 'fight' each other to play with it. We love this thing and I would highly recommend it to anyone. My son has no issues holding it or anything even though it is a bit long. It is amazing how many ways this gun can be used. If you want to have fun, go buy this bad boy. :)
I first want to say I received the Nerf N-Strike Modulus ECS-10 Blaster for my honest rating and review. Now that I got that out of the way. The motorized Modulus ECS-10 blaster is a brightly colored orange, neon green, white, and two shades of grey. The toy is recommended for children 8 years and older, but my son is 5 and he had no problem operating it. The product dimensions are (in inches):30.1 x 14.9 x 2.9. It is a lot bigger than I thought it would be, but the bigger the better with my son. It is powered by 4 AA batteries (not included). The blaster comes with a targeting scope, drop grip and dual-rail barrel, 10-darts, 10-dart banana clip, and a storage stock to store extra darts. The storage stock is the only part of the blaster I feel isn't sturdy. The blaster has many removable parts (sold separately) letting you customize your blaster in more than 30 combinations which makes this one of the better Nerf products. It can easily shoot 30 feet and hit within a one foot radius. The motorized modulus blaster was the highlight of my son's week. He found it quite entertaining and absolutely loves it. He plays, “kill the zombie” and shot just about anyone he was allowed to shoot. I give this blaster a 5 star because it keeps my son entertained.
The Nerf N-Strike Modulus ECS-10 is a very large nerf gun with a twist. The modulus series includes various (optional/sold separately) kits including the stealth ops kit, the strike and defend kit, the long range kit, and the flip clip kit (say that last one 10 times fast). It is a pretty cool feature that the gun can reconfigured in MANY ways (over 1000 with all kits). As the product comes in this box, it can be put together in over 30 different (fully-functional) ways, so no additional kits are required for use. Each kit comes with various pieces that can be changed out with other pieces on the gun (for example, the scope, clip, grip, etc.). See the box picture attached to this review for a better idea of what this looks like. It comes with 10 “darts” (which is the ammo required), and is interchangeable with certain other nerf products (they are the blunt end darts, not the suction cup ones). The darts have a range of a bit under 100 feet, so they often travel quite far. I'm wondering how many of the 10 darts we'll still have a week from now. It would be nice if they included a few more in the box, but I'm sure more can be purchased separately. It also requires four AA batters which are not included. All-in-all another quality product from nerf!
I am doing a review on the Nerf N-Strike Modulus ECS-10 Blaster. This toy gun is for eight year olds and up. It needs 4 AA batteries not included. It is brightly colored. Most kids love color. It gets them excited. I am glad as a parent that it looks like a toy and not the real thing. There have been too many problems with them looking real. It is motorized and will not work if the batteries die. You must first press the accelerator button first before you can pull the trigger. The motor sound is not too loud. Thank goodness because some toys are just too loud. It comes with a large magazine with ten foam darts. The magazine is large mainly just for looks. These darts do not whistle like some of the others. It comes with a targeting scope without the plastic lens. It comes with a drop grip and a dual-rail barrel. It seems to be made very well. The compartment above the magazine must be closed or the gun will not shoot. You can open this and fix the darts if they become jammed. The only problem that I had was with the battery compartment door. It came broke. The end that the screw is suppose to be screwed into is only screwed into the gun not the loop of the battery compartment door. They do not connect together. The door falls off constantly. Mine must be defective. I will have to tape it shut. I'm upset because it is brand new. It makes me wonder what will be next. I shot it quite a few times and could not get the darts to go further than 40 feet. There are 30 combinations of ways to put this gun together. I do think this is a good gun. I only gave it a rating of 4 out of 5 because mine was defective. The gun is also a little bit wobbly.
The First thing I would change with this Nerf gun would be make it non battery operated. This takes away the purpose of the semi automatic, but I will explain.... In short, it jams, its loud and not very accurate. The Nerf N-Strike Modulus ECS-10 Blaster sure has all the little attachments, scopes, grips and such. But the over-all usefulness is just not gained by how many times you will have to unclog the loading trap door that is placed, I think, in the most inconvenient spot, directly under the top handle grip. Because of the constant moving and loud noise of the motor for the bullets to be projected and the time of about 3 seconds to reach top speed, you will never sneak attack your opponent. If you do get the jump on them, it probably wouldn't work. However, When the Nerf N-Strike Modulus ECS-10 Blaster does work, Its a force to be recognized. Shooting a clip containing 10 rounds, and your ability to add additional clips for support, the Nerf N-Strike Modulus ECS-10 Blaster can be a very fun toy.
The Nerf N-Strike Modulus system is one of Nerf more innovative blaster lines. By incorporating the accessory rail system and other attachment methods, NERF has built a Blaster than can be customized by the user in, they claim, over 1000 ways, if you buy the additional accessories. My seven year old is a bit of a NERF fanatic, and went nuts went she first saw the commercial for this series. Build your own blaster, what a fun toy! Well, the toy is fun, but I can see how it could get expensive to customize it very much. For her birthday, we got her both the Modulus ECS-10 Blaster and the Strike and Defend Upgrade kit. This blaster set starts off with the base ECS-10 Blaster, which is one of two main blaster types in the series. The other is the ECS-12, which is much costlier and includes a built in digital camera. The ECS-10 comes with a duel rail barrel extender, a pistol grip, a 10 shot banana clip, a storage stock extender and a targeting scope. The user can combine these pieces in a few different ways to customize the look of the blaster. This particular NERF gun is battery operated, and you have to hold the “acceleration trigger” and pull the regular trigger at the same time to fire a dart. But, the acceleration does give the blaster a longer range than a pump action blaster. The barrel extender allows you extra space to add accessories and lengthens the barrel, improving accuracy, but decreasing fire power. The pistol grip handle helps for extra control of a blaster that can get rather bulky. The 10 shot clip allows you to hold a fair amount of darts, but I saw they do make a 21 dart version. I live in California, so not sure I'm going to be able to find that, but I hope I can. The sight is fairly inaccurate, and I can't find a way to adjust it to actually make it a targeting sight, but hey, it's a kid's toy, not a hunting rifle. The storage stock acts as a shoulder rest/stock extender and has a place to add an additional clip for more fire power in a Nerf battle. The base set includes white darts with an orange tip.
This was such a disappointment - first the battery case wouldn't screw shut, then the motor feature didn't turn on & off like it should have and then the darts kept getting jammed in the magazine dispenser/gun barrel area. It was so bad that after one 10 minute use we decided to return it. It was supposed to be the highlight of the birthday but it was a huge disappointment, don't waste your time, money or allow this toy to ruin you child's birthday!
My 12 year old son absolutely loves this Nerf blaster! He plays with it indoors and outdoors. He finds things that he can "target shoot" at and because it is Nerf, it does not harm things. He loves that it can hit things from far away. He loves the realistic sounds it makes. The only down side is he wishes it came with more darts or an extra clip or two filled with more darts so he wouldn't have to reload as often. And, more darts, so that if some get lost or misplaced, he would still have some to play with. Overall, another quality product from Nerf that I would recommend for any child 10 years old and up. A little large for a younger child to manage well.
