I like to use this to seal my ground coffee in a mason jar to keep it fresh. I've also used it for leftover salad (with dressing) and it stayed crisp until the next day. I plan to get more mason jars to help store produce this summer, and dry goods for storage. Each seal uses about 1-2% of the battery charge which isn't bad. Works great and I'm very pleased with it.

The NESCO Electric Mason Jar Vacuum Sealer is so easy to use and has already saved me so much between the cost of food, not having to go to stores more often, and even time in packaging it. Once everything is prepped and cleaned, it goes into a clean Mason jar, a lid is laid on top, then just add the vacuum sealer and push down gently until it is snug. Then… press the button. That's it! And you can reseal the same jar over and over. NESCO included a bunch of small and wide mouth lids, a charging cord and a lid opener. This device will pay for itself so quickly by saving you from food waste. And having fresh produce taste fresh for even longer is just a bonus. The device is easy to clean, easy to charge and very easy to store away while taking very little room in a cabinet.

I placed the lid on the jar and put the sealer on that and pushed the button. It took about 25 seconds. The jar is 3/4 of the way full. This will come.in handy! It came with regular and wide lids plus a little jar opener.

I had to push down with great force the whole time it was working. Some of the jars still had to be redone as the seal didn't happen! If it sealed w/o holding pressure on the vacuum lid. I would give it a 5* rating.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My hopes for this vacuum sealer weren't very high. However, its fairly powerful, it isn't too loud and saves so much space in my cabinets. I recommend this for those that don't do a lot of canning but may need to once in a while.
