My CitiZ & Milk is an upgrade from a smaller machine which died after 6 years of faithful daily service. The CitiZ is still compact in a small kitchen but has greater capacity for the water store and for used capsules. The milk frother is super simple and works really well for oat milk.
My citiz and milk is very much the older version. It has a plate that hides the two milk frother options under it and the milk frother is in a further back location. They say you can't take these machines apart. Not true. You do have to know about taking machines apart when it doesn't have screws but it is possible to fix. When you leave them in storage for 5 years they tend to block and for some reason the frother stopped spinning which was strange. Fixed the machine even at that level of buggered. Syringe 💉 surgery for the win. Back in the early days the coffee was kind of ordinary. Now you can get capsules from soooo many places. Surprisingly some of the cheaper options have ended up being pretty good. The new milk frother went straight in where the old one sat and works perfectly. Maybe I'll replace a capacitor on it later and get it going again cause that is all that seems to be wrong. Not sure if these new machines just don't last as well as the older ones but mine has had regular use for many years and has done around 200 capsules in the past month after getting it out of moth balls. So I can't complain.
We love this machine. Easy to use and a large range of pods to choose from. The only issue we have, is when frothing milk with the spring in, the milk always overflows even though we fill only to the max line. We now no longer use the spring so it doesn't overflow. Just don't get the foam for a cap but not a big deal.
Best tasting coffee espresso, Best machine easy to use, and milk frother
First time user, fantastic unit really glad I got one.
Machine is great. Ordered two. Return One. They are terrible with return at minimum! Didn't know they received it back a week prior. Then it's 14 days (business) to process refund. But I had to call so they knew. This adds up to 4 weeks. Who knows how long if I hadn't called. You get 1hr to cancel an order. Hour and half is too long. Customer service is great, but policies limit them to help. They suck at refunding.
This is my 1st coffee machine, pod or otherwise, trying to move from powdered pkt cappuccinos. Still experimenting trying to find the perfect mix, but I love the variety of blends, and ease of use. Very user friendly, and amazing rich flavours are a revelation. I like the milk warmer too, although I would appreciate a larger volume for my oversized needs. The only real complaint I have (which I suspect may actually be a fault in my machine), is the obnoxiously loud noise it makes when dispensing the shots: a significantly noticeable and distracting vibration from the machine, to the point the whole thing is literally shaking and vibrating the counter. I'd assumed this must (unfortunately) just be normal operation, but reading other reviews here, i get the impression my machine is unusually loud. It is on the edge of being a deal breaker for me (on this machine, not pods in general), as it's a bit disconcerting, but I guess we'll see how it goes. Still seems to function fine, and that function is satisfactory for my needs. Now I just need to figure out how to clone/replicate Nescafé instant strong cappuccino with natural ingredients ha!
Bought this machine December 2024 and has been problematic ever since. The milk frother ALWAYS over flows and spills all over the bench while frothing despite never filling up past the “MAX” line. Cant even get a full mug of a latte because of it. Not worth the price of the machine at all.
Good build and performance, with two design flaws that impact practicality: - the cover on the tank does not have hinge, and has very narrow rim, so unless you very carefully lift it with all five fingers spread it will end up in the tank. - the cup holding grates are hard plastic that vibrates as the machine operates, so the cups will vibrate away over the the of the grill unless you put a soft cloth or some other material to damp the vibration
We have had two of these and both work great for about a year. But after a year h they ave leaked and both milk frother stopped working months after use. The first one we were told it was out of warranty and we must have done some damage as we didn't use the Nespresso brand pods... The 2nd one that was a present last the same and now more water goes onto the bench then it does for your coffee. Noisy machine but that's not much a of big deal.
