I'm an xfinity customer and was having High latency, packet burst, trash ping while online gaming. With 4 adults and just about all electronic devices being on wifi at any given time I needed a boost. I purchased the netgear gaming router and from the moment it was connected Oh man! What a difference! Now the only problem is I can't blame the bad internet speed for my trash gaming! I must come to terms with the fact that I'm a trash gamer lol…maybe the router should come with a disclaimer *warning using this device may reveal that you're a bad gamer.
No issues so far with this new router. Easy to set up. Replaced another brand that was continuously dropping out.
I've been using the NETGEAR Nighthawk Pro Gaming XR500 for a few months now, and it's easily one of the best networking upgrades I've ever made. My old router was a generic off-the-shelf basic functionality device, and I wanted something more tuned for a home network with many devices. Setting it up was straightforward, and the DumaOS interface gives me total control over my network. It features geo-filtering, bandwidth allocation, and it's built with gamers in mind. The speed and stability are excellent. I can stream, download, and game simultaneously without any lag spikes or dropped connections. My ping in online matches is noticeably lower and more consistent, especially when using the QoS (Quality of Service) settings to prioritize gaming traffic. The build quality also feels premium. I like the sleek look, plus it is well-ventilated, and has plenty of ports for both wired and wireless setups. Firmware updates have been reliable, and the customization options are surprisingly deep for anyone who likes to tweak their network. If you're a gamer, streamer, or just want rock-solid, low-latency WiFi, the XR500 is worth every penny. It's not just a router, it's a genuine performance boost for your entire network. Highly recommended for anyone who takes online gaming seriously.
This router does everything it says it'll do and then some. I couldn't be more impressed. The interface is amazing and it's ease in setup and day to day operation should make it the envy of other brands. Five stars.
Thanks to the ability to prioritise my PlayStation or PC my gaming has increased massively with better speeds and lower ping helping this. Thank you Netgear
Bought this unit due to WiFi issues I was having with the ISP provided router. Instantly fixed WiFi issues and was able to provide the same speed on wireless as when plugged in, which was faster than the ISP router could get on wired.
This router is pricey, but performs amazingly. There are some newer models out by now, but this router does the job for your average household. It has an extremely user friendly GUI, making it ideal for beginners too!
I received a refurbished router instead of as new one. Product arrived in a regular box NOT a netgear manufacturer box. Attatchments weren't sealed in plastic bags. Router itself had fingerprints, scratches, dust
If you are planning on buying this gaming router, please do your research. there are a lot off issues with this device. The QOS (Quality of Service) is blocking my Samsung TV Plus app. I've reach out to NETGEAR about this issue and they can't figure it out. The support provided is more than enough to return this router and not buy this brand again. If you are considering making the purchase, please do your research.
I am not impressed with this setup. I have had more service interruptions than i ever did with my Comcast equipment. It's so bad it won't even hook up to all my home devices.
