i never thought a rice cooker would make such a huge difference but after my first bite of deliciousness, i cried tears of joy. then i realized id been eating mid rice for the last 7 years and cried tears of sadness. so far, i've made jasmine and sushi rice and both have been fantastic. i love how the rice cooker sings when you turn it on and when the rice is done. my only gripe is that when you start the cooking process, you don't know how long it'll take - the timer only comes on during the last cycle of cooking - so i budget around 45mins. i just make sure to start my rice before i start prepping the other ingredients for my meals.
I wasn't really sold on a rice cooker, especially since I didn't eat or cook a ton of rice. I wanted to incorporate more brown rice into my diet for health reasons and invested in this rice cooker to encourage me to eat more brown rice. This thing has BLOWN me away! The rice tastes EXACTLY like at the restaurant. I also use this cooker to make oatmeal in the morning for me. This rice cooker has changed me diet and lifestyle. It's been a few weeks since we got it and both my and my partner have lost 5lbs due to eating more oatmeal and brown rice. Love this thing! Can't believe I waited this long to buy it.
This rice cooker is great at cooking rice consistently. We have tried basmati rice, jasmine rice and sona masoori rice, and all of them came out perfect. I does take longer than a pressure cooker would take to cook rice, but it is set and forget and very easy cleanup. So only thing to worry about is to plan ahead to cook the rice
This thing is already saving me money. As someone that doesn't like cooking and cleaning or spending tons eating lunch out I can make my sushi rice and take it to work with some tofu and veggies and have lunch all week. Its so easy and the rice comes out perfect every time.
I bought this after years of wanting one. It is as good as promised. The rice is perfectly cooked, easy to clean, plays a little jaunty tune when you start and it's done. I've used the white rice and porridge settings. I like how many types of measurements there are on the sides and different cooking settings. I also really like how well the keep warm feature works. The rice from the night before is still hot for breakfast without being dry and crusty. It's still as fresh and fluffy as it was when it was done. I've even left rice for days after forgetting I cooked it and found it fresh smelling and didn't seem old. The only thing I could wish for would be a countdown timer like my old rice cooker had so I could anticipate when the rice will be done.
How did I live this long without this high quality kitchen tool in my life? Makes excellent sticky, wild, and brown rice. I use the porridge setting on a timer to have beautiful, creamy steel cut oats ready for me almost every morning. The only downside is that the cook time is quite a bit longer than other rice cookers or cooking on the stove top. But, the results are vastly superior with the NeuroFuzzy, so it's worth planning ahead and being patient.
The lovely Wash Your Rice gentleman had this brand in a video and I know his rice has to be delicious so mine should be too. So I went through reviews and the 5 cups suited my needs best. It is easy to clean and the handle helps with storage. The directions are easy to follow. Rice is perfect everytime and the keep warm feature initiating itself after cooking is amazing. Looking forward to having this for years to come.
We bought a Neuro Fuzzy many years ago. When that one finally gave out, I decided to buy the same make and model. The ease of using it was the determining factor and the length of service it provided us was another factor in purchasing another Neuro Fuzzy. Our old Neuro Fuzzy was used at least once a week. . . sometimes more. It wasn't sitting on a shelf collecting dust. It was used a lot!
Ecstatic with the purchase of this product. My wife is a rice aficionado and has been absolutely blown away with any batch price we've made with this. 10 out of 10 would buy again.
The rice cooker works well as intended. However, the retractable electrical cable has a very strong chemical odor. Due to it being retractable, this odor does 'live' within the device. This poses a real risk for the flavor quality of the rice. I hopefully assume that product testing indicates that this is not a health risk. Be careful not to place the electrical cord near chemically sensitive objects, especially when the device is in use because the cord's rising temperature increases the odor release. This is an unfortunately unavoidable problem due to a poor choice in manufacturing materials. I suggest Zojirushi address this exceedingly trivial factor that blatantly compromises an otherwise very well designed product.
