I did not think they made these anymore. Our old one went and to my surprise they still do make these old VHS/DVD players. I have a lot of VHS tapes. This is GREAT VCR. The ONLY thing wrong with this is there is NO clock in it otherwise it is great for the price. I have had this about a month now.
I am very happy with the new player because it specializes the use of closed captions and it works great. I was born deaf and I require to have closed captions in TV and movies. The old player I had did not work with all the DVDs so the new player shows closed captions from every DVD. It is really easy to use it because it is simple. My sis and I couldn't install it ourselves because we do not know much about electronics, but a person who knows and understands about electronics and computers will know how to install and set up with no problem. I think the price is pretty good. It was delivered to my house very fast and with no damage. I was pleased with the overall. I look forward to watching many movies with the new player!
Like most I wasn't sure they still sold these, glad they do because I have at least 30 or more VHS tapes that I still enjoy watching. Hook up was easy (our Son did it in less than 10 minutes) and we're really enjoying watching all of our old movies etc. Some people complain there isn't a clock on the unit but that didn't matter as it's great for the price Good buy.....you won't be disappointed!
I am not electronically savvy and this system was really simple to get up and running right away. Also, the quality for VHS and DVD are really good for my HD TV.
I was afraid I would never find what I really needed but this item is it. I have lots of vcr tapes and dvds. This plays both and does not take up much room. It was also a great price
We looked for a dvdvcr combo cause we have a lot of vhs still that we watch and I had an vcr/dvd combo but after 14 years it finally tore up so we looked around and this one had the best reviews on it.We also had a surround sound so we wanted a hi-fi one. It has awesome sound and it plays dvds and vhs well. You also can play dvds that you buy off of ebay from other countries on it too.
This was purchased for my mom who has a lot of VHS media and also likes to record "her programs." The ease of use is a perfect fit.
Life is so much more complicated in attaching electronics to each other. I have two boxes and a TV to co-ordinate and the manual instructions were not clear. I swung by the local Wal-Mart and a very nice gentleman in the electronics department explained the necessary connection route. I followed his instructions and I was good to go.
We could not figure out how to set this up. After returning, we discovered through Fred Meyers that a $25.00 adapter was needed. They sure don't make em' like they used to.
Misled. I expected to replace an old VCR to tape cable programs. Goes cable to vcr and vcr to TV. But no coax connections. Did not npack or test. will return.
