I have found Arches and many other brands' watercolor blocks no longer hold together as they used to. The cover and backing fall off and the blocks come apart. I have been using New York Central blocks for the past year and they have held together fine and the paper suits me.

Officially my new favorite watercolor block!! I am very impressed with the quality. It handles watercolor superbly. I will be adding this to auto delivery. Highly recommend!

The weight (300lb,640gsm), style (block) and composistion(100% cotton) the price I assumed this paper would be nothing more than scrap worthy. I'm glad I bought a few blocks because I under estimated it. It's impressive. I would compare the surface to Saunders Waterford (great for landscapes). The lift would be somewhere between Waterford and Fabriano Artistico. The lift isn't as drastic as Fabriano and isn't as color-set as Waterford or Arches. For the record, this paper IS NOT like Fluid 100. As for masking fluid - I've had iffy experiences. The paper didn't rip like the 300lb cotton Hahnemuhle watercolour paper (which quickly turns to garbage when tape or masking fluid are involved) and I went hard on it when trying to remove masking fluid.. which was the problem.. I couldn't get the dried fluid removed in a few areas. ONLY a few areas so it might have been an issue with how I applied it. Short and sweet - this paper is awesome. You get what you pay for - good paper for a good price in an arena where price can be a huge barrier.

This paper is perfect for painting with watercolor - it holds the water and the color just right. It does not pill up if you get too rough with the eraser or the paint brush!

I have used this paper in the past and was excited to catch these blocks on sale. Exceptional quality for my watercolor and I love how effortless it is to lift color from this paper!

I was quite impressed with the quality of this watercolor paper. It absorbed the water evenly and held its shape while I painted for several hours.

beautiful texture and properly solid. Water can be poured on the paper buckles and unbuckles. blossoms and absorption is great. Good tough paper

I've been using another brand of watercolor paper that I absolutely love, I'm a gouache painter. I tried this paper because it was on sale, not because I was unhappy with the other brand. This paper is just as nice, and I would say it's pretty much the same. I will definitely be purchasing more

Decent, affordable paper. This was actually one of the first cotton papers I used. I had purchased the big name (we know which one I mean), but as a beginner I wasn't comfortable practicing on such expensive paper. This was a nice option. It might not be the best cotton paper, but I always keep it on hand.
