I love how paint moves on this paper. I practiced a project on one side and will start the other side soon. A small amount of water is easily controlled whereas a lot of water moves quickly before drying. Absolutely no buckling at all. I'm so excited to start!!
I primarily paint realist botanical watercolor and love this paper. Color lifts well from this paper and It absorbs water & pigment evenly. I have been using this brand for a couple of years now and tried it after encountering "dead zones" in which the paint does not flow in a competitor's product. I am so glad Jerry's is stocking it. I also like that it is available as a pack of sheets rather than a block, for me this makes traveling with a work in progress easier.
This is the second time that I have ordered New York Central Watercolor paper. It takes a lot of abuse, and I like the texture. It is a good value - comparable to Arches and Fabriano, in my opinion.
I am enjoying this purchase. Good quality paper that allows me to custom cut high-quality watercolor paper for my irregular and non-standard vintage frames. I will buy this again. Good value!
I purchased this paper to make watercolor journals and am very pleased with the quality of the paper. It can stand up to repeated wet washes without buckling. It is a joy to paint on.
I use this paper for my students in an art class so they can benefit from using good quality paper from the start. This paper is priced at a good point and the quality is very good. Highly recommend.
We love NYC paper! Good texture but also allows for color to flow. Pretty much have switched from Arches, using 300 lb NYC.
I'm very happy with the hot press cotton paper. It is more economical than the glued block I was using. It accepts crayola well.
I do really favor the deckle edge and thicker weight of another paper I've used even though they are both 300lb, but this one is definitely more affordable and seems to stay fairly flat without tons of effort while still having decent water retention. I'll order again for sure, also shipping was pretty fast!
It does the job. Not as robust and doesn't handle lots of water like Baohong or Arches. I probably wont by again.
