These steaks were fantastic! This will be my new go to. Know there is a lot of marbling in them…but that is how they should be for Prime cuts of meat. Tender, juice and delicious
The price of meat is ridiculously high, but splurging on occasion is a treat. They were extremely tender and had a nice beefy taste. Salt, pepper, fresh garlic. Sart with a cold pan, Fry 2 minutes, turn, fry 2 minutes, repeat until temp in the center is 125 degrees for medium rare, cook longer for a well done. Rest the meat for 5 minutes and enjoy.
mostly very good however this package replace the package stolen by driver which was a 3 pk this was only 2 and 1 of them a 1/3 of the steak was fat all the way through
Out standing Prime meat, thankyou soo much, marbled perfectly. Thankyou Walmart!!!! YOu never disappoint me , thankyou sooooo much!!! Sincerely Paula wheatley
Not very flavorful, was very chewy and one third of the steak was gristle and or chunks of fat. I cut one of the steaks in half thinking it would be too large to eat the entire thing, had it not been for the overload of fat and gristle that would have been the case. See photo.
These steaks are better than the NY strips Walmart passes off as 'choice,' but they themselves are choice at best. The marbling is a bit better (I'd call it 'so so'), but the issues with bad cuts remain (removing the strip that makes it a NY strip, and one steak is usually way bigger than the other). Overall, for the price difference between choice and prime, I wouldn't recommend.
I've had many USDA Prime steaks from Walmart, this is the first one that was no good. Let me explain why. It's because I ordered it for "delivery from store" and the "shopper" is the one who picked it out. New York Strips are not the most tender steaks, but they have a wonderful flavor. Now, IF, they are well marbled they will be almost as tender as a USDA Prime Rib-Eye. BUT, if they are extremely lean, they will be as tough as the backend of a shooting gallery, like these were. I blame it on the "shopper" who probably picked out the "leanest" piece of junk in the steak section, probably thinking, that "leaner is better", which is totally stupid when picking out good steaks. When picking out steaks, it's imperative that you pick out the ones that are well marbled (intramuscular fat), you know, the streaks and veins of white fat that are visibly present throughout the steak. You don't want one with huge globs of fat that take up most of the steak, that's not what I'm talking about. I "dry brine" my steaks overnight in the fridge which helps tenderize them, and when you cook them, whether it's grilled, pan fried, broiled or whatever other way you cook them, the marbling will render out and keep the meat moist and impart a true "steak" flavor to the meat as it renders out and exits the steak during the cooking process so you're not eating a lot of fat, you end up with just enough to make the experience perfect. Unless someone who knows nothing about choosing a good steak picks it out for you and they pick out the leanest and most worthless steak in the display case. And that is what ruined these. And that's why they were so tough and hard to eat. So, Walmart "shoppers" this is for you: STOP PICKING OUT THE LEANEST PICE OF STEAK FOR AN ORDER. THOSE ARE THE TOUGHEST AND WORST STEAKS IN THE DISPLAY CASE!
One of the steaks in the two pack was fine, but the other one was like a scrap piece of meat, it was not a N.Y. Strip cut. It also expires today. My last order had a piece of meat that expired on the day of delivery as well. Whoever is doing the picking for Home Delivery really needs training. II should have done a return on it, but I didn't... It definitely is not worth the price for prime..

Just had a delivery and my girlfriend let the delivery driver in the building and he just left a lot of heavy groceries like water in front of the elevator and left. This is the first time a delivery driver has not brought to at least the door of my place on the 4th floor. I would like to reduce my tip to a dollar, and if this is the delivery service I get I will reconsider using WalMart. Most of your people are beyond great, but doing this to a small women is out of character and completely uncalled for.
