I couldn't be happier with my under-counter fridge. The flip shelves are an amazing idea and are so simple to use, it makes it very easy to keep both wine and beer in the same fridge and keep everything organized. The fridge is also silent, which is a big bonus for where we have it mounted.
I love my NewAir FlipShelf unit! I received a couple weeks ago and it has been a wonderful addition to my outdoor patio for ease of entertaining. The set up was seamless and the flip shelves made it easy to switch between cans and wine bottles for guests. I love my new unit and am so happy with how quiet it is and how cool it keeps my beverages.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We were looking for a beverage fridge that would fit our bar area after renovating our basement, and we were so happy to find this one. It's really beautiful and looks like a professional beverage refrigerator. Despite worries about how something like this would travel through the shipping process, we were pleased to see that the packaging was outstanding, and it arrived with no problems whatsoever. It looks absolutely beautiful in the space and we are especially happy with the LED lighting inside that makes it look even more beautiful. The flip shelves are extremely convenient, making it possible to use for canned or bottled beverages or even wine bottles with just a flip of the rack. We couldn't be happier to have our Newair beverage fridge and highly recommend it!
If you're looking for a good wine/beverage fridge, this is it. I have been on the hunt for one since moving into my new home office. It fits perfectly against the wall and has storage for days. The NewAir FlipShelf™ is highly customizable so you can easily store whatever variety of beverage you want to keep cold. For me, I have half of my unit filled with my favorite wines, while the rest with beers, hard seltzers, Red Bull and anything else I could possibly want. (A few candy bars may be hidden in the back away from my wife).
I have owned this fridge for some time now and I am extremely pleased with it! This fridge is extremely quiet and very spacious. The flip shelf shelves are incredible. I love being able to mix and match shelves as I need. I also like being able to move the shelves around and space them out or different sized cans and bottles! The temperature control element on this works perfectly for brewing as well. As a home brewer - I often need a place to chill meads and this allows me to pull out the shelves as I need and cool down my meads to whatever temperature I want! It's a great product for homebrewers and beverage chillers alike. I am very impressed with it's design, structure and utility. I was able to fit a whole 5 gallon carboy and multiple 1 gallon carboys in this. The internal light inside of it is very nice and help as well. I will also reiterate - it is so quiet! You should definitely consider this if you are in need of a good fridge!
While I'm not sure about the total storage space claims (162 cans, 54 bottles, etc.), this fridge definitely holds more than enough drinks for my family's needs. The ability to flip the shelves around to customize the experience at any time is a excellent feature, making it much more flexible and useful long-term.
I own numerous Champagne, white Rhone and Lambic bottles that I have to rest for some time. As I was living in the Bay Area, maintaining a good temperature was not that hard. Though now, in Los Angeles, it is not possible so I started my lookout for a fridge. FlipShelf was the obvious choice as I often have rotating cans that cover a large compartment in my regular fridge. That is why I decided to use it. PROS: - Fits naturally under my counter - Silent! My former two wine fridges killed me with noise - Stainless steel is always good! - You can play around with the temperature and the response is fast - Even with fully loaded, moving is not that hard if needed for cleaning. CONS: - Not a lot of them, but I could use the shelves coming out a bit more so I had a better visual when pulling them out. ADVISES - The door opening from two sides can be a good future update
I've been using this wine fridge as a stand-alone unit in my homebrewing space. It arrived well-packaged and in good shape. After the requisite 2-hour wait to allow the coolant to settle, I plugged it in and it was down to temp (37F) in about two hours time. Included is an extra door hinge assembly for flipping the door to the other side, which is super handy. I primarily brew wines and meads, so having ample cold storage for white wines and traditional meads is a plus. When summer comes around, I plan to flip the shelves the other direction for storing 12oz bottles of cider and session meads to have more warm-weather beverages cold whenever we want! Things I love about this fridge: it is relatively quiet, with no loud humming or rattling; the feet are easily adjustable to level it out; the lights provide a great aesthetic; the large storage capacity; the elegant stainless-steel front; the big glass window where you can clearly see the temp setting; and it is relatively light weight and easy to move. A bonus for homebrewers, with the shelving removed it fits a five-gallon carboy. So, you could feasibly cold-crash a brew in the fridge as well! The biggest issue I could see someone having with it is the height - to accommodate so much storage, it is taller than I'm used to seeing wine fridges. So, measure your space if installing it in a cabinet to ensure you have plenty of clearance. Overall, I'm quite happy with the NewAir FlipShelf™ and would recommend it to wine/beer lovers as well as homebrewers. It's a very pretty machine and does the job well. Good combo.
The unit has been installed for two days. It was easy to set up. The concerns I have at the moment are that the display says it's 37 but a thermometer says it's 45. One of the reasons I replaced the old cooler was it didn't get things cold enough. Also, the ability to adjust the shelves is a bit more limited than I would like. And finally it immediately started to build frost on the back wall, which my old unit did as well which meant having to defrost it every couple of months. I was told by customer service that this one would need to be manually defrosted at least every six months, but I had already ordered it. I'm hoping this unit will not get as large a build up. If given the opportunity in a couple of months, I will update this review.
Beverage cooler arrived in poor condition. The door was not level and it was missing the back panel where the wires were exposed. It was also missing parts to change the way the door opened. It did not appear to be in new condition, or if it was, I suspect it was returned previously.
