Newair, 50 lb. Portable Ice Maker, Countertop Design, 3 Bullet Ice Sizes

So far so good. Actually, I was sent the stainless steel, instead of the red noted in the description, but that's ok. My last one worked well and lasted three years of continuous daily use. I use it to feed my ice water therapy machine for chronic back pain. Since I had owned a previous machine of theirs, and the website made an error on my order, they gave me 20% off. Which was very cool. Can't go wrong with this machine. Design is excellent & well thought out also.

This product is awesome. 50 pounds of ice is no problem. I tested it out on 4th of July and worked beautifully. Looking forward to using it more and would like to see the company do a 100 pounds ice maker in the future. You now have a customer for life. If you don't have one get It, I highly recommend it. You won't be sorry

The first one sent to me had an evaporator finger issue and it made ice logs instead of ice cubes. I was hesitant to have another one sent to replace it but did so. I've got to say that I'm very happy that I gave Sam's a chance to correct this. This ice machine is simply way more than I expected. The cubes are twice the size of the little Igloo cubes and it has a collection basket that's twice the size. When New air claims that the machine makes 50lbs of ice per day,I believe it. I actually have to shut it off at times because we have more ice than we need daily. Rarely do I take the time to review something but in this case, it's a pleasure to.

This Ice Maker works like a charm. Drops ice first batch in under 10 minutes and continues to produce about every 6 minutes after. The timer feature works great too. My one complaint is the same as many others which is the plastic cover over the control panel arrived falling off as there is no adhesive one half of it to stick to the panel. Disappointing for sure, but not enough to send unit back since it works so well. Be prepared to try to glue it on, but be careful not to get glue near the buttons underneath the cover in the process. Buy this one. You won't be disappointed with its performance. Quality Control should be catching the minor sticker issue but for some reason they obviously aren't.

Ice cubes start making quickly. The bin fills up in about an hour and needs to be emptied to continue making ice. I wish the bin were bigger so more ice could be made continuously. This isn't something that you plug in and leave all day to get your 50 lbs of ice. You must be diligent in watching for the bin to get full and then bag your ice and put in freezer. I can make about 8 gallon bags of ice a day without too much trouble. I recommend it as long as you realize how it works. Also ice will start to melt if left too long in full bin.

I brought this two weeks ago works like a charm. Had ice in 13 minutes after cleaning. My family loves it.

This is my 2nd Ice maker. I had a different brand that made a smaller batch of Ice than this oneIt was good but stopped working after 3-4 years. This one makes almost a 1 gol bag every 1-2 hrs. I have to turn it off because we run out of freezer room. The control panel cover was not seated completly and water can get behind it. I tried pushing it on but no help. Hope it doesn't corrode something. That's the only thing that keeps it from getting an excellent rating all around.

We were under the impression that the ice maker could stay plugged in and functioning 24/7 as our family's source of ice. However, it shuts off like a crockpot. So you have to remember to drain, refill, restart and dump often. Does not hold and store the ice. Need to invest in an ice bin for your freezer so you can dump the small portions one at a time as it's made. Kind of a $200 ice cube tray, bummer.

I bought this ice machine as a back up to my refrigerator because we are a big sports family needing lots of ice for practices and games. The idea is great, but we cannot get a nasty taste out of the ice. We gave it two weeks. We rinsed with hot water. We also tried vinegar. We tried and tried. It will not go away. Do NOT buy!
