Purchase this to keep me warm while working in my garage and since I purchased it we had extremely cold weather set in and I have run the new heater to maintain an above freezing temp to keep pipes from freezing. It has done that really well and not have to run too often. Great product. Very Happy.
Great heater. really puts out some heat. Had to run new outlet for the 240V but well worth it .. Company is awesome. Great customer service. Free shipping. Could not be happier
Does a great job of heating my 500 square foot un-insulated garage. The only thing that was a surprise was that there is no on/off switch on the unit. We just flip the circuit breaker for the receptacle it is plugged into.
This heater was shipped within 3 business days and I had the electrical plug receptacle for it installed in one hour, so I was able to get my one car garage/shop heated with this NewAir G56 from 34_ to 60_ within one hour! It appears to only use 5.6 KWs of electricity for only $0.67 per hour. I couldn't be happier with the NewAir G56 considering I live in Colorado with 30 of snow on the ground, with outside temperatures in the teens , and Air & Water's speedy delivery of this heater. Thanks.
I was expecting a larger unit when it came in the mail. Although this was misleading. I have a 480 Sq. ft. garage that is not insulated with 10 ft. high walls. On a 20 degree day, I turned the unit on and left for approx. 35 minutes. The garage had warmed to almost 50 degrees. Within an hour the workspace was comfortable without gloves. The unit is a little loud, but didn't really notice in the shop. I just turned up the radio a bit. Very happy with the overall performance of this unit.
I have a 20x20 steel shop with a roll-up single-car, uninsulated metal garage door on one side. The shop has 1-2 inches of sprayed foam for insulation on the walls and ceiling. I had been using a 1500w space heater to break the chill, which made very little difference in the comfort, even after running it for several hours. Since I live in north Texas {Dallas), I don't usually experience bitter cold, but a shop temperature in the upper 40's is uncomfortable for me. This heater raised the temperature to a comfortable level in 5-10 minutes (low 60's, maybe). I started the dial thermostat at about midway in its rotation and then backed it off to about 1/3. It cycled off and on, mostly off after it had warmed the shop a bit. The noise sounds similar to the smaller space heater I had been using but greater by 2 or 3 times. It's not silent, but it's not too loud in my opinion. It doesn't take up much space. In fact, I would say it takes up less space than the smaller heater I had been using, but it puts out much more heat. The coils do not glow like my smaller heater, but a heater looking like it's heating and a heater that is actually heating are two different things. My smaller heater was an ornament, appearing to heat but not doing much. This heater actually heats, and it moves a decent amount of air. The heat seemed pretty consistent throughout the shop. You will need the proper plugin. I have a plugin that I use for a stick welder. It didn't match, but I was able to find an adapter that allowed me to plug the heater into the welder plugin. Since I never weld with the doors closed for the heater, this will work well for me. I will store it away for the other seasons. No mounting problem. Just set it on the floor, and plug it in. I think this was a very good value from Walmart. It was the best price I could find. It meets my needs very well.
The NewAir G56 garage heater is super. I live in the So CAL mountains at 6000 feet so my 2 car garage is in the 30-40's all winter. In 30 minutes I can do my wood working and in 45 I have to turn it down. The thermostat does an excellent job of controlling a comfortable temp. I highly recommend the G56 for your garage. Make sure you have a 240v wall plug and you'll be good-to-go. The jury is still out on energy efficiency.
This is honestly one of the best additions to my shop in a long time. I previously owned the 110V Newair heater and it was fine for most cool night but when the temperatures drop really low in the teens, it would run non- stop. This heater however, Heats up my whole shop from the low 50s to the 65 degrees in about 20 minutes. and it only kicks on once an hour to maintain the temperature. My workshop is a 17x19 two car garage and has limited insulation. Only thing that i needed to do different was getting a 220V/30A line run to the shop. but it was well worth it. Honestly, this is a must have if you live in the upper half of US or anywhere in Canada. I'm in NJ and my temps drop down to -5 on some cold nights. must have for anyone who wants to heat their garage quickly and efficiently.
This product is smaller than you might imagine but it heats up a zone very nicely. We are using it in a large warehouse and so we move it where we want it. In a smaller space such as a garage, I suspect it would do very nicely. The toughest part of it is the plug. We had to wire in a breaker and an outlet to be able to run it.
This looked like it would have been a good heater, but unfortunately the plug is similar to what is on a clothes dryer - a 220v plug - which is incompatible inside my house. Even though the description says the heater is for a garage, I was hoping to be able to use it inside my home since my gas furnace puts off a gas odor when I turn it on. If you want it for your garage, you'll probably like it!
