Customer Insights: Rated 3.0/5 from 4 reviews.
I have not rode a bike in 25+ years and wanted something to ride to work off some extra weight. I am 6' and little over 200lbs. I didn't want to spend a fortune on a bike that I may ride a week and then decide I don't like it. I read many different reviews on this bike and taking all of it into consideration, I bought the Hyper Jolt. Overall, I am very satisfied with my purchase and here are some things I would recommend. I purchased the bike online and assembled myself. I thought that putting the bike together myself would help me to understand and learn the bike better. But actually, all I had to do was put on the front tire, handlebars, and the bike seat. Everything was pretty much done from the factory. The negative from purchasing online is that I did have a chipped tooth on the sprocket on the crank. It has not affected the bike at all and the gears shift smoothly and I have had no problems with the chain slipping or coming off. So I would go ahead and purchase an assembled bike at the store and look at the sprockets and make sure they are not chipped, then snug down the front wheel, and the handlebar bolt when you get home to make sure they did it right. Also, my bike has a little wobble on the front tire of less than 2mm, but, it is still annoying to me. So you would want to check that also at the store before you purchase. And one last thing, the seat is terrible! I rode the first week with the factory seat and I don't think the seat is made for humans. It rubbed stuff raw that I didn't even know I had. So I went and bought a Zefal gel seat from Walmart and it is awesome!!! Other than that, I have rode this bike almost every day for about 5 1/2 weeks and love it!! I had to tighten the suspension under the seat because of my size and how my ride was bouncy at first, but you can tighen the shock by hand and it took less than 10sec. to adjust. My opinion is that this is a great bike for a beginner like myself. If I get more into mountain biking after riding this bike for a year or two, I will probably spend the extra money for a nicer quality bike.
Bought this bike after reading the reviews and after inspecting in the store. If you are serious about mountains and abusive use, dont get this one. I wanted something to ride for exercise and for errands and this bike is great. Aluminum, disc brakes, great style and great ride. If you can find a better buy, Ill be surprised. Very satisfied with the bike and still smiling about the money I saved.
The bicycle looks like a good bike. It has aluminum frame , double suspension, disc brake in the front wheel and shimano derailleur. Unfortunately, I received the bike with the front wheel bent, being unbalanced and damaging the functioning of the front disc brake. I had to return the bicycle.
Pros: Super light, looks cool, cheap, aluminum, twist gear system, and front disc brakes. Cons: Cheap and the gears on mine broke a little too easy This bike is really a nice concept. What i was drawn to was the look of the bike and the fact it was aluminum. I took it out on a test drive the day after i bought it down a trail and the gears started to slip when i was half way down the trail, but it was still drivable. When i had finished the trail I had the bike inspected and had found that the part of the frame that held the wheel was bent in a little which had a been part of the problem but perhaps the most disturbing thing is the fact that one of the teeth on the front sprockets was broken off, which is a little rare because the back is more likely to that. I'm not sure if i had bought it like that or if the trail had done it to that? The bike will be returned later for a different one.
