I bought this bike 2 years ago to help me get around my college campus at U of I since I couldn't bring my car with me and didn't want to depend on others. Moscow, Idaho is extremely hilly and this bike allowed me to go everywhere. It is stylish and very shock absorbing. I'm 5'2" so finding a bike that adjusts to my body is very difficult because I have a long torso and short legs, but this bike is the best I've had. I bought it at the store already assembled and an associate helped adjust the bike so it could fit me. I have an extremely bony butt (even when I was little, no one would let me sit in their lap) so I was very surprised to find the seat very comfortable to my narrow derriere. This bike is great for petite women who want to do serious riding in hilly paved areas like the Palouse. I rode it about 2 hours a day up and down hill from August till the first heavy snow.
I've had this bike for a little over a week. Overall, I'd say it's a pretty good bike. I had to make some adjustments to the gears and the handle bars from the free assemble job. Also, if you plan on actually doing some real riding on this bike, go ahead and replace the pedals. The right pedal on my bike broke yesterday while I was three miles away from my home.
This has turned out to be a great bike for me! After having a serious bike accident more than 50 years ago, I wanted a stable bike that could handle pavement, grass, or sidewalks. That's exactly what it does! One problem may have been the manual; I remember the manual stating to change gears when stopped. The manual has since been lost/stolen since I moved; however, the online manual states to change the gears when in forward motion. The bicycle guy at Walmart simply fixed the problem after I walked the bike back to Walmart. Great! One negative: there is no place to put a water bottle. Quite a few bikes have two screws to hold the water holder. I don't think it's on this bike. In short, I use this as a hybrid bike even though it doesn't say to use it as that.
I ordered this bike from walmart.com because of the price: it was not very expensive, and there was free shipping to my house. The bike came to my house unassembled, of which I was unaware when I placed the order, and I had to search for a bike shop to assemble it. Paying a shop to assemble the bike was almost as expensive as the bike itself. The color is nice, the gears shift well, and the bike is sturdy. However, the seat is a bit uncomfortable. All in all, I am pleased with this bike purchase. I look forward to riding it around my college campus!
I purchased this bike so I could start exercising and lose a little weight. I have tons of bike paths by my house that I used this bike on. I liked this bike at first, I thought it was a great bike for the value and nice looking. I have had it only for a week and I already hate it. The whole time while I am riding the bike all I hear is the chain clicking. The gear shifter is horrible. If the gear shifter weren't so horrible, this bike would be great! I am taking this bike back and I am going to buy the Ladies Mongoose. I hope that bike works well, if not I am just going to buy an expensive bike. You get what you pay for.
Overall bike wasn't bad. Both pedals broke after riding 1 mile from wal-mart. And then the piece that keeps the chain from coming off by the front de-railer broke off. Plus there were shifting problems too. Returned it and got a different model.
In receiving bike, had 2 right pedals so had to go to nearest Walmart and ask for replacement pedal. Also, gearing doesn't work 100% had to have someone fix it.
Unfortunately the very first time I rode the bike the gears shifted horribly to the point the chain came completely off. I thought it might have just been me then I read the previous reviews under this bike and realized it wasn't just me. And to add insult to injury both my petals I discovered recently are cracked so I did what I thought was right thing and called the company to have them replaced. This was 2 1/2 weeks ago and they told me I would have them in a week. I called them back today and they said it will be another 10 days. I'm just taking this horrible bike back to Walmart getting my money back and purchasing a bike that isn't this brand.
This bike looks and handles really well but as soon as you need to climb any hills, it's useless. The chain kept coming off for my daughter. I then had a look. The gear changer was not moving up and down properly and many of the gears were't available or working. Some had awful clicking problems. The price for everything else was great so if you still are thinking of buying, test all the gears in the shop before taking home.
Horrible bike. It was hard to put together. The brakes came on backwards. Finally after fixing it rode it once and now it needs a new tube for the tire. Would not recommend this bike
