One of 6 ignition coils failed after 500 miles
My car was running okay, but I figured with 120,000 miles it might be time to replace the ignition coils for reliability. The new coils and spark plugs were installed and the car continued to run well. However, after 500 miles, the car all of a sudden started running rough and the check engine light came on indicating engine misfire. I figured it couldn't be the brand new name brand ignition coils. After much troubleshooting for other things that could be the cause, I finally determined that one of the new coils had quit working. Moved it to other positions, and each time the engine miss followed the bad coil. Note that the NGK warranty is only good for 60 days. Now I'm worried the other coils might fail prematurely.
