This bread is a staple in our household. Grampa always has a loaf on the table with dinner and will eat 4-5 slices in one sitting. It makes great sandwiches hot or cold.
I have eaten Nickles' bread for over 20 years. It is a very good quality bread; soft and delicious. The slices are a nice size for sandwiches or French toast.
Probably the best white bread, not as costly as a some of the other white breads, great texture, and priced at under $2.00 a loaf, as of 11/25. Will buy again
Great for fish and egg sandwiches; very short, very cheap buck bread. It doesn't grow stale quickly.
Be careful when ordering from walmart. they subsitute many items even when you tell them not to. even worse... they promise quick delivery but never have the item syou need the most. they conveniently wait till last second to tell you " item unavailable" . This results in getting items you did not really want but added to your order and getting none of what originated the order . paid for a year walmart plus and all benefits are half what they appear. calling them is conveniently impossible. back to giant eagle i go !!!
I usually do not buy the cheaper brand bread. I was very surprised it wasn't too bad for the price I kind of liked it. I do think it was worth the money that I paid for it. it's really good for making like different recipes and bread pudding.
The bread was fine. Taste was as expected. The issue for us was the size, it is small. We know that profits are important but reducing the size of a slice of bread seems strange. You will know what we mean when you put a cheese slice on this bread. We would perfer to pay a dime or so more to have bread that fits the normal dimensions. Is this an example of shrinkflation?
I don't like Nickles bread, but it's too much trouble to take it back. It also states you are charged for what you were expected to be getting not what they substituted it for, which should have been $1.48. It looks like they only substituted only 1 item on my order but they substituted 3 items . I ordered 3 Pepperidge farm breads and only 1 of them was correct. Now do I just keep them, or go back to the store. One thing is for sure I am definitely canceling this Walmart delivery service. I may as well have just been went to the store if I have to take everything back anyway. What a pain. And I tipped for my bother that people over there can't read because on my account unless someone erased it I clearly put down under no circumstances did I want ANY substitutions. If they could just take the time to read I wouldn't have to run back over there.
Purchased 2 loaves on 12/04/2025 @ $1.398 each and when making a sandwich the bread tore apart. Tried toasting it and butter with PB n Jelly, it dried the bread out even more and made matters worse. The BBD was a lil over a week away. Not recommended
My problem is with the store specifically. One of my loaves of bread in this order expired SEPTEMBER 21st!!! This is NOVEMBER 11th!
