What a nifty little set! Had my nephew try it out today..it is just as described. It's easy to use, fit well in his hands, the grip is comfy, not too bulky, the cap is easy to remove in order to mark in holes if needed. The lead appears to be of good quality, thick enough to not snap with moderate amount of pressure. Though he didn't need the sharpener, he tested it out, it worked well, sharpened to a point! He used it to mark on wood as he's building me a shelf, line was clean and clearly visible. I went outside just to make a couple lines in the back of our metal Christmas yard decor, marked just as good as on wood. The clip is definitely functional when clipped to my t-shirt it seemed a bit loose but I think it would be ok on a thicker material. The colored lead showed up well on wood though the yellow was visible it was light. The cases are a plus, keeps everything together n at the ready. The lead was easy to remove and replace, I tried it just because, it's just like changing out an average mechanical pencil. The tiny level works too and it's cute! Overall Im satisfied with this carpenters tool, feel that it's well made especially since it won't roll away!

The Nicpro Mechanical Pencil is an excellent addition to your tool kit, especially for smaller hobby projects. I found the tip sharpener a welcome edition as well as the 3 types of lead. The pocket clip is very strong compared to other mechanicals and pens I've used in the past. It comes with a mini-level it is really unnecessary but doesn't affect the pen at all.

Wow!!! I love this pencil. it's so versatile. I've always had to use different markers for various types of material, but this pencil with the interchangable lead is a time saver and a invaluable addition to my tool bag. My go to pencil from now on.

This is the perfect carpenter pencil set. The case it comes with keeps everything in its place and is very handy. The actual pencil is well made and comfortable to hold. I like that this set comes with the different color refills. The refills are also very easy to change out and replace. I also really like the included sharpener that comes on the top. Just a very well made and quality set.

I didn't know I needed one of these in my workshop until I examined this set. It is versatile, has a built in sharpener and is 100 years ahead of a flat carpenter's pencil you have to sharpen with a knife. Something like this makes precision work a joy. The red and yellow 'leads' are somewhat soft but are not grease pencils. Somewhere between soapstone and a grease pencil in hardness. They will work better on non-porous or smooth surfaces. Should be good for marking pipe and metal cuts, the things that graphite does not work well on. The two precision plastic lead boxes fit very neatly into the case which snaps shut. This would also work for drawing up quick plans on paper - rough drafting. I don't know why they included a try bubble for leveling small things but it fits in there nicely.

I purchased this because I work outside construction part time. The pencil, color and thick graphite work great on multiple surfaces. The red and yellow colors are bright. The pencil is strong and won't roll away and is easy to see its orange color. It has a built in sharpener and graphite storage in the base of the pencil. The retail price seems very reasonable. Great stocking stuffer for the holidays or gift. The thick graphite will not break and the pencil seems rugged. A great buy for anyone.

this carpenter pencil set works just as expected. not greasy. the assorted colors come in handy for different markings or cuts. love the small case so everything stays conveniently organized.

This set of pencils is absolutely wonderful. I have arthritis in my hands and gripping these pencil are easy for me to hold and just to extend the lead by pushing the top. I recommend this set highly.

Overall, incredibly more convenient than traditional carpenters pencils. Have been using them for a week and I haven't had to change the led even though I use them constantly. The only overall problem is the pocket clips are loose. I bend over allot at work and the fall out of my breast pocket.
