excellent product. I needed to upgrade my night owl security cameras due to the fact that the new android phones no longer supported the older systems app but was compatible with my existing cameras so I wouldn't have to change the whole system. this worked flawlessly. Just switched out the dvr and good to go. totally awesome 👌

This FTD-8 System was much more user friendly than my first Night Owl unit which quit working after 8 years of continuous use. This Night Owl was very easy to set up. I do wish that the installation instructions had mentioned that I needed to install the "Night Owl Protect CMS" program on my laptop in order to view the cameras on my PC. The CMS program is different than the Smartphone App, which is simply "Night Owl Protect". The only oddity that I'm experiencing is, every few minutes, a random camera will quickly flash a colorful scrambled screen, or a camera will go blank for just a second. It's not really troublesome, and I can live with that. I'm hoping that it might be caused by something like my electric sump-pump cycling on and off every few minutes because we're having a very wet and rainy spring season. I'm happy that I bought this FTD-8 system. A huge plus was that the original Night Owl camera wires that I installed 8 years ago were compatable with this new system and its 4K cameras, and I did not need to run new wires.

Very good DVR goes with older cameras also. Had extra cameras so I can setup another system with this one.

night owl security cameras are the best...you don't lose anything...its always good quality...i have had mine for 9 years now...and still going strong...

Only problem I'm having is it don't continue recording it just show piece I want it to record daily

i had to go out ,reset to get on the app to my phone. live view is great. it doesnt record on phone. so you will have to tv.

Once received , I could not get my app on phone. Called to get help, said that I need to connect to internet. The last one that I purchased two years ago, did not require an internet connection. I had to send it back.

Bought to replace ild hard drive. Would not pick up the existing caneras though they are Night Owl, The app was terrible as I had an already existing account. iI even deleted the entire account and started over. still would not set up correctly saying password was wrong even though I just created the new account. Also in screen it said no hard drive included. It says 1 TB recording. Why would someone buy a DVR without storage. Very disappointed in this. I have been with Night Owl for 10 years. gGoing with a different brand. Don't waste your money in this garbage.

dvr stop does not work properly says has no hard drive and does not let me log in.
