Night Owl 2-Way Audio 12 Channel DVR Security System with 2TB Hard Drive and 8 Wired 2K Deterrence Dome Cameras

I bought this as an upgrade for to go with the cameras already installed. Works better than before. So pleased with product.

Been a night owl customer for years, upgraded every few years. This is our third system and very happy with it.

Supports up to 12 cameras but comes with four. The night vision is wonderful and the picture quality is perfectm crystal clear recording! Each camera is two way audio! So you can talk to them and they can talk back! System was easy to set up and a very DIY project! The 1TB hard drive will save hours of recoding just in case you do need to go back and look at something!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had just moved into a new house and a new to us neighborhood where we don't know our neighbors well or what goes on around here especially when we aren't home. My husband and I decided to hook up this security system with 4 cameras. It was easy to install and easy to download onto our phones. It is easy to set up from your mobile device. I like that it has a 2 way radio for you to listen or talk. I also like the spotlight feature and that the video is in full color. Another good feature is that you get voice alerts or you can send out a warning to unwanted guests. Everything is nice and convenient and we feel a lot safer knowing who is on or near our property. I definitely recommend this product to others.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had my Night Owl 2K HD DVR Security System for about a month and I really like the sense of security, it gives me. This security set included 4 Cameras, which I set up on each side of my home and it also came with a 1TB DVR, so I can save a ton of recordings, without worrying about a monthly fee. Setting up this security system, was easy and only took around an hour to do so. I really love that I can connect this system, directly to my TV and have live access 24/7. There's also a mobile app that allows me to view live video, but I found the app to be a little more inconvenient, than it was convenient. I only had notifications set for Human and Vehicle detection, but I kept receiving multiple notifications a day for animals, clouds and shadows, being detected as humans. I still occasionally use the app, but I now have notifications turned off. Another issue I ran into is the siren feature. I was really excited about this feature! I could make people aware of the fact, that they were being recorded and being able to possibly prevent things from being taken from my property, was like a dream feature! Unfortunately, the siren was going off, all day and night, from any type of movement. The cameras are definitely great quality and I love that they're multi-functional. They come with built in spotlights, very clear 2-way Audio and beautiful clear videos, during both day and night! Even though I'm not very fond of the app and the siren wasn't what I'd hoped for. I'm very happy with my Night Owl Security System and the peace of mind, it gives my family and myself!

Positives of this product are that the color and picture clarity is good. Easy to install, connects to both monitor and phone app. Negatives of this product is that video relay to screen is a little delayed and the wide angle distortion starts to far from the camera for our needs.

Machine is great and easy to setup. The app is not easy to setup also would like to see the app available for smart tv so the view is large. When interface the phone to tgg by e tv the pi's is small like on the phone

The cameras are good quality but the app has a bunch of bugs, for one I turn off human detection and it keeps turning it back on. I get way too many notifications and can't shut the ones off I need

I am disappointed that FTD4-81-8L does not support single channel viewing sequentially through active channels. Not being able to view channels sequentially on FTD4-81-8L is a letdown. I wish FTD4-81-8L had a function that allowed for single channel viewing in a sequential order.

I upgraded this system from c20x version because of the audio aspect. I thought you would be able to export all 8 hours(for example) to a usb drive like the c20x version.. NOPE Its only by events. You cant even select multiple events at a time. Its just one at a time. THIS IS A HUGE SOFTWARE FLAW! FIX THIS!
