I am so impressed with this system the cameras a so powerful and the night vision is really great, The phone app is nice so I can keep an eye on my house when out I would recommend this system to anyone who asked me.

First time getting cameras. Easy to set up but still figuring out uses

This is our second night owl system from Walmart. We have some remote property in Missouri that needed to be monitored. Walmart was the only thing around there that had any security video cameras. The day before we left to go back to our other property we decided to buy our first night owl ,which was only motion detection We did not set it up at all as far as what you wanted detected. There was a little glitch in us getting to view it from her phone but technical support was very helpful and quick. When we got home we were getting all kinds of alerts for the motion bugs just about anything could set it off. On our next trip down we bought the motion and infrared system. We installed two of the six cameras we program them everything went as smoothly as it could. This system has now been installed for approximately six weeks we installed two more cameras this past weekend and they are working however we did not program them and we are getting a few false motion alerts which are our own fault. Now before we bought this I read all kinds of negative reviews about technical support or set up or just all kinds of negative reviews. And I have this to say this is not simply a plug-and-play system it does require a little bit of knowledge of how to run your wire make sure your wires properly supported and connected properly. And if you have a problem technical support was very quick and prompt an accurate on how to troubleshoot our system I was very impressed. All that being said I would have to say to people that had a lot of negative reviews maybe they didn't install it properly and maybe their expectations of Plug and Play we're a little too high. Like I said we have two of these systems and I would say it was very easy for me to install and program and get ahold of technical support. However I also have several years of commercial and Industrial electronic and electrical experience not that I think that that would have mattered. It's just some people lack the patience and possible knowledge to properly install the system and or troubleshoot it. If there was 10 Stars I would give this system 10 Stars the cameras are awesome the night vision far exceeded what I expected and Technical Support with spot-on and very helpful. I will repeat myself one more time if you're expecting this to be hook everything up and work I think that your expectation might be a little bit too high. And again be patient read the directions get online to do some simple troubleshooting and you will have a properly working system and no time at all.

Fast shipping, Nice packaging, with no missing parts and No damage. It came with easy installation instructions, plenty of wire for my 3 bedroom house. Great set up i recommended it to anyone that needs a security system...

Just bought this, and got it all set up. Come to find out, one of the 4 way power splitter plug in doesn't work. Read a few reviews where this is a common problem. I'll be calling night owl to have them ship another. Other than that set back, the picture quality, and ease of use is outstanding. Looks really good on my house.

This is a worthless system if you want to view it on your phone. Would not connect to internet. Issues with Night Owl customer service made things worse, but finally got unit replaced and had the same issue. So I can't remote view my system. Paid too much money to not be able to use the system as it was designed. As I said before, contacted Night Owl and they were very confusing, sending multiple e-mails with different information. Not even sure they did anything to the unit before sending it back to me.

I bought system to keep me and my home safe I'm an a senior citizen and I live alone my home as been broken into two times when I got it home it was not even a night owl system it was some no name brand zmodo.as soon as I seen I call walmart they told to bring back then now they act like I took the system out I didn't I was just trying to keep my home safe it's hard enough being a senior citizen and on a fixed income and told I had to get in touch with night owl night owl didn't do it Wal-Mart sold it to me now I'm out of 350.00 and not a security system and I live alone this is bullcrap

First purchased in April of 2017. Everything was ok until one day in December of same year we came in and there was no picture coming from the camera's. The Night Owl DVR showed power was going to it but no video feed was coming through. We plugged a different computer into our monitor to make sure that was not the issue, it wasn't. We plugged the Night Owl DVR into a different computer (to double check) still nothing. Called Night Owl and they had me try unplugging and re-plugging in of all cords, nothing worked. They said they think it was our network. Now mind you it did work for 9 months on this network without a problem. As this is a business, I could not be without a security system. I ordered another night owl December 26th 2017. About 4 months later it started giving us issues, Called night owl again and they had me do the same thing as the first call. It did start working again after my 2 hr phone call but could not pull up wirelessly on phone. Decided that was not a big deal and let it go. Now we have had the second night owl for 1 yr and 2 months and it has stopped working yet again. Night Owl informed me it was out of warranty and they would be happy to upgrade me to a different system, at MY expense. I don't usually write bad reviews as I think they are mostly written out of anger but this time I wanted to make others aware. Unless you want to be on the phone every 6 months for 1 plus hours of hold time and no help on their device, I would look elsewhere. If they would have, in any of the 3 times I had a problem told me, Let me get you a new DVR to see if that works I wouldn't be so upset. Instead they pretty much told me, sorry your problem. The cameras seemed to work ok when the DVR was working, Night vision worked pretty well also. That was why I purchased the second one in the first place. It doesn't hold much on the 1 TB HDD without us having to buy an additional Hard drive for storage. We always had a problem pulling up camera feed either live or past from away from the office. As a business owner, I can assure you this product is not worth the frustration and hours of phone calls it required to have it operate properly. I should also share that I have a Night Owl X at home for our home security, that one is wireless. I can't have a camera more than 15ft away from receiver or it can not connect. Putting it outside your house is next to impossible. Live feed on my phone doesn't work 1/2 the time with this Night Owl X neither. I am usually a pretty easy going person but at this point I can guarantee I will by a whole new system and re-wire everything before I would spend another dime on a Night Owl. Please read this as a product review, not a Complaint forum!
