I love this paper, so much so that I ordered a second sketchbook just in case they stopped making it. It's a great warm tone that doesn't have lots of imperfections like Strathmore Toned Tan paper has. The paper is smooth and even in tone. The binding on it has so far also held up.<br /><br />I primarily use this paper for sepia colored inking with waterbrush, and with white colored pencils for highlights. It's excellent for this. It's not the thickest stock in the world but it takes water fine, although does warp slightly. It is also good for small gouache studies.<br /><br />Overall, my favorite toned sketchbook I've found yet.

Very nice sketch pad. The paper is sturdy for use with pencil, oil pastels, and charcoal, but it also works well for when I use watercolor pencils and what to blend so colors and lines together using a wet brush. Nicely portable pad that I can take anywhere and begin an idea on this pad's paper and then execute it on the final (size) paper. So for me, it functions as it should - a sketch pad for an idea.

This is a HIGH QUALITY notebook, the paper is smooth which allows me to use everything from charcoal to pencil while keeping detail. The paper is thick and I love that it is sepia tone, makes it really nice to be able to sketch the highlights and shadows and not fill in midtones. You won't be disappointed with the quality of this notebook.

I was surprisingly shocked to find out how much abuse this paper can take, layering it with markers pens pencils and ink…. I’ve had very few occasions were the ink actually shows through on the opposite side really happy with this purchase and hopefully this brand doesn’t change it too much and continues to manufacture it at the quality that it has shown me so far

This is a fantastic toned sketchbook for drawing with pen, charcoal, colored pencils, markers and pastels. Very thick and very smooth paper. Large sheets of paper that can accommodate a large piece of artwork. I am really impressed with the quality of this paper and generously sized sketchbook. I highly recommend for all levels of artists.

I got this for my oldest as she is a medium to high level drawer who loves animation. This came in and it felt just like the other sketchpads that came in but a tad thicker and has some weight to it. First time she used it she comes to me and says she wants more because this def worked better than the Strathmore Tan Drawing 400 Series Toned Sketch Pad that we had gotten for her in Sep for her Birthday. One of her many reasons she loved this one better is because the color shows up and doesnt bleed and get lost in the paper it self. She said that the color doesnt bleed, dries just about as quick, is a little easier to blend but the most is that you can see the actual color as it appears. Overall I have to say this is a winner for her and you can see the results speak for themselves when it comes to how it takes color and she uses acrylic paint pens I believe. However I can see the one she will be asking for more of as I stated before.

Tan paper is not what you normally want to use when you like to sketch, draw, paint etc. However this is nice paper and it gives my doodling some interesting depth. It works well with lighter colored pastels and makes black ink doodling look interesting. There is even a web link where you can try to learn some drawing techniques too. This is spiral bound so good for left or right handed people, lays flat, heavy stock so not a lot of soak through from markers, and you get 70 sheets which will keep you going for a long time.

I decided to do a quick test run on this paper when I recieved it so far I've only used white charcoal pencil on it and it looks good. The paper is smooth instead of that rough texture that most sketch paper has. The white charcoal doesn't show up on the paper as much making it hard to see in certain lighting but overall the paper is okay, I think other mediums would show up better than the white pencil.

I bought this instead of the Strathmore Toned Tan because there were more sheets per book but...the tooth is fine but the color is just weird to me. It shows through LAYERS of colored pencil and gives an odd tinge to your work. I think I'll just stick with the Strathmore Toned Gray that works great.
