Design makes it a cool and useful collectable
Even if this didn't provide an in-game bonus, the amiibo would make a cool collectable figure. Within the Splatoon 3 game, it gives you bonus gear, and it also works with two of our other games: Animal Crossing: New Horizons (it lets you invite Cece), and Mario Kart 8 (you get a new costume). As my little guy loves Smallfry (he has the plush) this was a hit.

A delightful little man
What a simply delightful creature! He watches me in my sleep with those large, unblinking, eyes. He whispers uruaughrhwuahgh when my head is turned. He surely protects me from grizzly bears, octopi, and an oddly old fashioned phones that speaks 90s slang.
