Buy one, you'll love it!

JGRfan20 January 25, 2008

Kudos, Nintendo! I have to say my wife and are positively hooked on our DSes. Considering the Game Boy Advance catalog, there is a significant library of games available. There's literally something for almost everyone. The only drawback I have found so far is that there is no way to take advantage of the multi-player mode in any GBA game (though, the wireless mutiplayer feature on many DS games is remarkable). This is by far one of the best values in gaming today. The portability, built in Wi-Fi, the plethra of available games and it's universal appeal make this a real winner. And at such a reasonable price this is a must own. The games are also priced low. I have yet to see one for more than $35, and most of them you'll find in the $20-$30 range. Don't wait any longer; pick one up today!

Not just a Toy

JeepGeek January 12, 2008

I have had game units in the past but chose not to keep purchasing the last "fad". Seemed all the units as geared toward kids. I kept seeing the DS advertised with Brain Age 2, seemed to be right up my alley; I purchased it. I love Sudoku and didn't even realize it was on this, but the concept of using your brain more was appealing. Several people mentioned the DS breaks a lot. Seems that kids are hard on them. I purchased a protective case and bag for the unit and expect I will not have any problems. I hope to find the Planet Puzzle game; so far that is the hardest part.

The whole family loves it!

borntohunt August 27, 2007

We bought this DS Lite as our 8 yr old's first ever handheld, and he loves it. The younger kids in the family also enjoy it, and the games vary enough that everyone finds something they like. Even my husband and I play it. The chat feature is pretty cool, too, if a friend has a DS. They can sit near each other and send messages or hand-drawn pictures on the screen, and can even play simultaneous games. The size is perfect, as it fits right into my purse so I can pull it out at the grocery for some shopping cart entertainment. Be careful when buying accessories to make sure you get the ones that are for the DS LITE. We mistakenly bought one for the regular DS, and the stylus and car charger won't fit.

Nintendo DS Lite: A Handheld Gaming Revolution

NintendoFreak January 24, 2008

The Nintendo DS is such a great hand-held console with so many great features--the WiFi capability as well as its local DS Wireless connectivity, the ability to chat with others across the world--literally using the built in microphone, and the touch screen is so intuitive and fun to use! Be aware: you must have a game that supports these features--you can do very little otherwise. Also, the graphics are not the best, but certainly blow the GBA out of the water. Just because it has wifi connectivity does not mean it can surf the web, etc (let down for me). The DS just lacks the power. Ninetendo's aim here (and for the Wii) seemed to be a reasonably priced console that everyone can enjoy--not a graphics powerhouse like the PSP and PS3 with a limited demographic for an audience. Specifically for the DS Lite Onyx Black: I'm a big fan of the DS Lite, being so much smaller and lightweight, much greater screen brightness and the very long-lasting battery life. I'm also fond of the beautiful black color, but be aware that it collects fingerprints like mad! Overall: the Nintendo DS (and the Wii) are the best next-gen consoles (IMHO) that everyone should try out!

Lots of fun

Keenerah January 2, 2009

This game system is loads of fun... lots of different kinds of games and activities... only one drawback.... the system sometimes misinterprets your answers or simply doesn't understand them at all... but this isn't often enough to be a major problem... would definitely buy it again...

What a great product!!!

BRAY0920 January 3, 2008

This is such a great Christmas gift. I bought this for my husband this year for Christmas and we both can't keep our hands off of it. We normally are not big video game players, but we wanted to try our hand at the game Brain Age. Which we love also. Reasonably priced and comes with everything you need to get started. Defiantly would recommended!

Addictive

That's all my husband does! He keeps trying to beat his past score. I gave it to him for our 20th anniversary. It has been very poplar with him and my son!
