i thought the 'knobs' at each end would catch things in my bag and untwist. they did not. I thought the 3 inch would be too short because they wouldn't have enough length to twist multiple times. it did not stop it from performing. these things are strong. a simple half-twist, just hooking the other side is all it takes to secure my cables. In the picture, the blue cable wraps around the end once then the two ends can go around the bundled cable. This allows me to unravel my cable without the wire tie dropping off. It is so secure it doesn't even slip. Definitely a great decision to go with this product!
These 32 inch gear ties are great to have around the house and in your car for a multitude of uses. Currently mine is securing my outdoor umbrella! They are great for tidying up extension cords, and holding the gate open! Many sizes to choose from make for endless possibilities!
Ties work great to secure our balcony furniture to the railings. We live on the Chesapeake Bay and never know when a strong wind will blow. Have had furniture blow off the balcony in the past.
Ordered 50 or so of differing lengths and diameters to test. My son got 50% of them for his photography equipment. My wife got 25% for her cable restraint and other uses, and I am loving them. I have an order to place for at least 200 more! As nearly always, Great job Nite Ize!!

Simple, easy way to keep your cords tidy and untangled. I prefer the brightly colored Gear Ties for their easy visibility on cords that I travel with and which are wrapped and unwrapped frequently; the darker ties I use with cords that are pretty stationary and which I still want to be neat and unobtrusive.
I work in the Data Center business and these ties are great for securing network cables and power. If we change something you can easily undo these ties and secure it back up rapidly. Our server racks look the best and our clients appreciate it as well. I prefer the orange color you can see it quickly for changes in equipment. Best thing ever. Just wish we had options for bulk discounts? I use the 3, 6 inch ties the most.
Just like all of the MANY other Nite Ize products I use, These ties seem to be of excellent quality for the reasonable price. I have been intending to try these and switch over from velcro cable ties if I liked them. Well, I love them and am in the process of switching to these for all of my charging cables, usb extension cords, all usb cables, equipment power cords, and anything else I need to restrain to organize. My son is way into photography and videography. I intended to offer some of them to him to try. Purely by coincidence he had become aware of the existence of this product on a job a few days before when someone he was working with was using them to secure cables to rigging on a set, and he thought they were great. I had also intended to share some of my test order with my wife for her needs. Between the two of them I surrendered 3/4 of my test order which included quite a few units. Everyone loves them, so I have a "to do" order created for over 200 pieces in different lengths to get us all going. I can say that the 3" units are best for things like a standard narrow flexible 3 to 5 ft long usb a to micro or c cable. The 6" units are great for slightly larger or longer cables, or braided usb cables for example, and the 12" units are perfect for for things like short extension cords, computer AC power cables and such. The one larger diameter significantly longer one I ordered will be useful for temporarily holding 2 large item together so you can work on them or for wrapping a large extension cord with enough length left to create the hanging hook out of the unit itself, hanging large items from a roof truss in a garage and many other possibilities for use, even in heavy load situations.. We will have hundreds before we am done. (We have a lot of stuff and I am an "organizer") Thank you Nite Ize!!
Why buy a dozen Nite-Ize gear ties? Duh! Because every time you turn around, ,you find a new use for them. I happen to use a lot of electronic equipment, which means I have cords and adapters everywhere. I had trouble controlling all these long cords, and they were always getting tangled. Enter Nite-Ize Gear Ties. The six-inch length is perfect for wrapping around the power cord portion of a computer power adapter, or looping around the folded cord on a mouse (no I don't like wireless mice). Headset cords, power cords, cords that are too long - there is no end to the need for these gear ties. They wrap quickly and easily. They are not fiddly - you can quickly wrap a cord with one hand holding the cord, the other putting the gear tie securely around the cord. They last a long time, and hold securely throughout their long life span. What more could you want? If I wanted to make a single suggestion, it would be to have a twelve-pack box that had a variety of colors, but not black. So many cords are black - the bright orange or blue or yellow help you find your gear tie in that pile of black cords, I prefer to buy all different colors, but not black.
Great when they're working but after a fair bit of use the wire breaks inside. I would recommend this to a DIY person but not a trade person (me). I was using them for extension leads and spray paint hoses and all have failed after a couple of years of being used about once a week .
