I used a competitive product for a while, but after a year the suction cup mechanism broke and the mount just bounced around while I drove. I saw the Steelie system, liked the robustness of the design and bought my first one. I was immediately impressed with how well it was constructed and how simple it was to set up and use. My wife saw it and wanted one for her car. She's also very pleased with it. Fast forward several months and my company is getting ready to do a demonstration where we were doing a live drive to show people our platform and app for effectively eliminating distracted driving. Without hesitation I bought 3 more Steelie mounts to place in the demo vehicle to hold phones so we could maximize the audience with each drive. They performed perfectly. In fact, several of the participants asked about them and indicated that they were going to get one for their car. And, one of my colleagues asked about them as well and plans to make a purchase for his and his wife's cars.
I am surprised not at how this product works but how much I'm using it. It's a fantastic desktop phone holder, and works great for positioning and adjusting just right.
Love these products! It's convienent to have the steelie orbiter set up so when you are home you have your phone on a stand and when you are in your car you can easily attach to the dash via a magnet. The attachment on your phone is thin so your phone thickness does not change. Love this product!
The Orbiter Kit is fantastic! A thin metal disk mounts to the back of your phone (or case) — it adds almost nothing to the thickness of the phone. The Orbiter disk magnetically “sticks” to the “ball” of either your vent kit or dash kit. You put your phone near the Orbiter disk and it's mounted and ready to go — it's just that easy. The Orbiter allows your phone to swivel in any direction so you get a good viewing angle on the screen. A gentle tug unstick your phone. The Steelie magnets will NOT erase your phone's data or settings.
Called in to find out why my part wasn't working, only to find out that I had ordered the wrong thing. Customer service was excellent and set me on the right path immediately. Used Nite Ize for years, and love the strength of their magnet and quality of the products!!
These products are invaluable to me. I use them for my phone in the car, to hang my two tablets up on the wall out of harms way and to prop them up on any table I am working from my phone or tablet. Every one I show them to likes them and wants to but something from that line. I also really like the little dog light that you can snap on to the collar. It can really be seen from far away at night! Safe for both people and pets alike!
I've had one of these on my desk for years. Using the ball and magnet system is absolutely the best device holder ( phone and portable radio) that I have found bar none! Use the steelie in my ladt 5 truck s as well.
Works well. I had to use a different adhesive tape, what was supplied kept letting item fall off when truck sat in hot sun. Seems to be holding up since I changed out the tape
Overall the product is great for its purpose, just make sure you let all adhesive components cure for 24 hours. Only down side I have noticed is it inhibits wireless charging.
The windshield Mount doesn't come with a magnetic socket, thereby the product is useless without it. Luckily I had the vent clip before (which came as a pair-clip plus socket). I couldn't find a parts list anywhere on the box or website. The magnetic socket is a bit weak-always have to be adjusting your phone. There are way better products out there. I can't believe that the company is so cheap that they can't include a socket magnet with every order-pathetic.
