My first pet porter has lasted through three dogs. I always crate train my dogs to "go in your house". When we travel the pet porters go with us so the dogs always have their house where ever we go.
I like leia crate although Leia dont like it she rather have the crate that is to small for her
Buoght this to transport two cats to their new Home 500 msiles away
Easy to assemble and very sturdy. I have two cats so this is perfect size
Our 24 lb dog was able to break the door after leaving him alone for less than 6 hours. He broke the door spring securing device then bent the lower part of the door and got his head out of the opening allowing him to chew through, injuring his nose and escaping.
Just six months of limited use and the door broke off of the kennel as well as the spring loaded latches fell off. Plastic is easily broken off as well. I would definitely NOT recommend using this product for a large dog. Ours is 72 pounds (within the appropriate range for this kennel) and the kennel does not hold up.
Nice size kennel but not durable. My German Shepherd leaned to one side of the 40" kennel causing it to tip over inside my vehicle. The tip-over broke / cracked the top corner of the kennel which is now junk. This was the first time it was used and it could not survive a slow side tip over..
As a dog trainer for over 20 years, my preferred created has always been the Pet Porters. Until a few years back when they changed the design. At that point, they seemed to put all the money into looks and very little into the durability of the doors. I use pet porters to potty train from an early age and the doors on the smaller models seems to work just fine. I've never had a problem with them. I get to the XL size and they literally fall apart just trying to open them. I recently took a dog to KK with me with a brand new pet porter and was gone for maybe 5 hours. He was out and the door was broken when I returned. They sent me an article on how to train my dog. This is a dog that is just fine in a wire crate all day, but I had recently bought 3 new pet porters to replace very old ones that were falling apart. All three no longer have doors. In less than a week. But again, these dogs can be put in wire crates and do not escape. It's not the dog, it's the cheap construction of the door. I have replaced many doors just because I opened them and the bars fell out as I did so. The turn lock doors never had these problems. I've sent many friends the link to replace doors instead of having to buy whole new crates because they have the same issues with the XL crate doors. Be aware these crate doors will not hold up. Invest in something more durable if you have a larger dog.
