Works great, just keep an ear open.
Was shopping online and saw dozens of different and costly popcorn makers that I can use in a microwave. This item was at my local WalMart and thought for the small price to give it a try. I have Jolly Time popcorn Kernels and just used a tablespoon of them to try it out. (WASH AND DRY BEFORE USING THE BOWL). Stood by the microwave and it began to pop the kernels and when the popping stopped pulled out the popcorn. Nearly every kernel popped and the popcorn was fine. Saw a small dark spot on the inside of the bowl, and after a soapy wash it was gone. Have used it many times since I got it for low calorie snacking and as long as you watch and LISTEN for the popping to stop you will not have the horror stories I have read about this and similar makers, NO OIL OR BUTTER added to it for making popcorn JUST THE KERNELS!!

Nice healthly popcorn popper
Our family uses this popcorn bowl daily. No need for oil. For our microwave (1000 watts) we discovered that if you use 1/4 cup popcorn at 2:15 seconds we have very few unpopped kernels. Spritz with a little oil and add your favorite season and you'll have a nice snack for one or two people.

Great item, makes a small batch, we can control how much we want (1/4 cup unpopped fills the bowl) and season as desired.

Makes a better salad bowl than popcorn popper.
This is a horrible Popcorn popper. Says it makes 14 cups using 1/4 cup of kernals. haha. I think I got 2 cups from the few kernals that popped. But, I did find and amazing use for this bowl. It makes a great salad bowl. I put everything in the bowl, put the lid on it and shake it all up....works great.

Faulty
This popper didn't pop well at all and the kernels melted into the bottom of the bowl. It also ruined my microwave.
