Norpro 18/10 Stainless Steel Ultimate Meat Pounder Tenderizer 26Oz Hand Washing

Got this as a gift for my Mom. Instead of getting her a replacement of the traditional double ended meat mallet that she needed replaced, I saw she had been looking at these. She absolutely loves it and says it's much better than the old school hammer looking one. If you're on the fence, just get it- apparently you won't be disappointed!

This is a America's test kitchen number one rated product and I stand with the evaluation 100% Weighted perfectly, with a great handle to hold on to and easy to clean. Great for pounding chicken, beef etc to the correct thickness without being inconsistent. I use this regularly and it is flawless unlike the older style "meat mallets" that are awkward, often tear meat apart instead of beating it evenly ! In my opinion, the best on the market currently.

This is the real deal! I have an old one that has one flat size and one has jagged side..not much surface area on either. This one is very heavy but a large round surface area with a handle thats easy to grip..this type is what us "Italian Mommas" use to pound chicken for Chicken Marsala, Scaloppine, etc. Its a little pricey $24.99..but something hopefully to hand down to your children. Its very well made

I really like how this thing fits so well in your hand and being small it is easy to control. The finish on that handle helps with the control also. I was pounding on glass and I would never try that with a meat mallet, not any more. One time in my life over 50 years ago I used to use a 12 ounce hammer every day all day. Makes me wonder why we ever got so far away and started using mostly the meat mallet. So much so that it took over a week just to find one so I could order the thing.
