It's very sharp. I stacked the beef I had pounded into thin slices and started hitting it with the tenderizer. It was easy to use and did better than expected. It was tough to clean by hand, so I put it on the top rack of the dishwasher, and that did fine
I had never used a tool like this before. Just tenderized with a mallet or edge of a plate. I make a lot of dishes with chicken breasts and thick cut pork chops. I had never considered using a tenderizer on the pork, but decided to try it. It's so easy to use, and I have carpal tunnel and lateral epicondylitis. Medical speak for bad pain in hands, wrists, forearms and elbows. Took seconds, put them in milk for 25 minutes, normal seasoning then in the opening. They were incredible. Clean up is easy, hot water soap. Let it dry. Waiting far too long to add this as a kitchen tool!
I am pleased with my purchase. works great and cleans easily. I don't understand why people complain about no instructions, it's not rocket science using one or cleaning it. This tenderizer made the marinating more effective and my steak was extremely tender.
This is a great meat tenderizer. I used it on a 4 lb pork butt. Worked great and fast. There is a safety feature at the bottom of the unit. The sharp prongs can not cut you. The plastic disk prevents any accidental cuts. Very good. Purchase. Good value!
does exactly what I wanted it to do, easy to use.
My last meat tenderizer got bent needles due to trying to tenderized meat that wasn't totally thawed, my bad. But after use that big, expensive thing decided that this size and price is great. Works just fine also.+
Loved this meat tenderizer for many years until it broke.. Hoping the new and identical one gives me as many years of service.
Don't care for the plastic material. Also every time I push it into the meat the bottom plate gets stuck and I have to pull it apart
The size was nice, it was easy to handle and the tenderizing points seemed sharp enough, but that's about all I can say good about this item. The tenderizer got stuck in the meat and was not easy to get out without using a fork or your fingers or something to hold the meat down. Also, the guard that seems to be on a spring of some kind would get stuck and not go up and down and then wouldn't align properly with the prongs. It was just pretty much unusable. Another perfect example of you get what you pay for. Spend a little more and find something that actually works well.
I specifically picked this because it was the Norpro brand, the brand I received is Fleischzartmacher. It very well could be the same meat tenderizer, maybe made in the same factory, I have no idea. I simply don't appreciate getting something different from what is advertised.
