must have
I don't get in to many kitchen gadgets so I was apprehensive about this one. I hated cutting pineapples but hated canned pineapple more. All the pieces are sturdy and the ratcheting mechanism is a huge plus over other corers. On how-to videos they make it look so easy but you do need to use some muscle, especially when pulling the cored pineapple out. It really only takes seconds for the whole process. You are left with an empty shell with just the core. This is a big gadget and the blade does not come with a protective cover (just a small one for the bottom). I can't think of any other uses for this so if you don't like extra gadgets, just stick to cans or a sharp knife.

Pineapple lover's friend
Best on #6 and 7 pineapples. It is fine for #5 like at Costco, but those are large and it will leave good fruit behind.

Worked very well
This worked very well. It did not come with any directions so I kind of guessed how it worked. It peeled and cut the pineapple great. It left a little good pineapple on the peel but I am pleased with this product.
