Nostalgia Hot Air Popcorn Maker, 16-Cup Countertop Popcorn Machine with Measuring Cup, Red

This popcorn popper was replacing an older brand very similar in looks, but after numerous years and uses it finally burned out. The wife liked this Nostalgia popcorn maker because it is red and matches some of her kitchen counter appliances. After a couple uses, some comments. We like the off/on switch on the side, as our old one never had one, for you simply plugged it in and it kicked in. But seems like this Nostalgia takes longer to start popping, not sure why. Yes, it does get very hot ...but just a longer wait is all...no big deal. Afterwards the popper is very hot to touch, including the plastic top...so be very careful. We just let it cool down before moving it elsewhere. So that's it...at a great price and value makes it a winner for at home movie night.

I had purchased a silicone microwave popper and was not happy with the yield and it made an awful hot plastic smell. In researching air poppers, this was my choice because of the air circulation around the kernels, helping ensure even heat distribution to the kernels. It also has a toggle switch, something many others didn't. It is a bit louder than I'd expected, much like a hair dryer. After preheating it for 3 minutes, the popcorn was done in less than that! A whole large bowl of very fluffy popcorn. I couldn't be happier.

I'm very pleased with this popcorn popper! It's cute, pops the kernels fast and end result is light fluffy popcorn! It's a win, win.

i wanted to make my Mom's popcorn balls. i tried it with popping the corn in oil on the stove top. Not good.! i now can not only make her recipe, but enjoy my popcorn with what I want added

if you follow instructions, turn on machine without measure cup for 3 minutes prior to popping the corn then use measured corn it comes out fantastic, it makes enough to save some, and it tastes great without butter or seasoning

Since i do not have a microwave at the present time i thought this would be a good one. I have used it a couple of times and like it for the ease of cleaning after use.

I chose this primarily because it had no chemical warnings. It's use proved cumbersome. It doesn't seem to produce quite enough heat to pop most of the kernals. Many sit in the popping basket until they are too burnt to pop. Filling the measuring cup exactly right is critical. That gets the most kernals popped. Still, a good third of a bag of corn will go unpopped. Yes the measuring cup can be used to melt butter which is necessary to get any salt added to stick to the corn. The butter/salt is added after popping of course. Taste is quite good with no danger from carcinogenic additives.

It does not pop all the kernels, which is to be expected. But, it doesn't pop many kernels, more than I would have expected. there were many unpopped kernels wasted.

I forgot how dry air popped popcorn is dry without any flavor of the popcorn you get at theater. My husband melted butter in Microwave and poured over the popcorn that I tried to make taste worthy with a cheese salt, stevia packets. It was totally unetible. Not to mention the popped corn flies out all over the counter.

It works but something on the inside makes a really loud vibration noise while running I would spend a little more and get a better one
