Now Foods Beet Root 12 oz Powder

Not as sweet as I thought, which is a good thing. If you like beets, you will like this product. Taste is faithful to the vegetable itself. Does help boost workouts.

Use it to -- perhaps -- get a bit of a boost for bicycling. But, I keep forgetting how messy these powders are! Also, it wasn't a very bright idea to put a powder in a tall, narrow bottle, as it's difficult to get a scoop in, especially when it's less than half full. (It should be in a low, wide canister, such as Swanson's Maca Green Tea powder.) I'll definitely get a liquid concentrate from now on!

I tried this brand of beet root powder because my usual brand wasn't available. I've purchased other Now products in the past and was familiar with the brand. I've been taking beet root powder for many years. I'm used to my pure beet root powder having an earthy taste and bright red color. The Now product has neither of those things. I don't care for the bland taste. I won't buy it again.

Although I have used NOW products for years, I was disappointed with the beet root powder. It does not dissolve all that well in water and there is always residual left in the glass. Also, it would be much better and easier to use if the container had a wider mouth, as with the Now Sports L-Arginine Powder jar. I have struggled everyday and am glad I have finally used all the powder. What added insult to injury, no long handled measuring spoon/cup was provided. I will wait for a redesign of the container before considering purchasing this again.
