Freeze drying captures the flavor so well. I have tried growing chives but unlike anything else in my garden and herb containers, I just have no luck with chives. When I got my order, I immediately opened it and ate a pinch…great mild onion taste! Also, even though I knew the weight on this, I was surprised at how much I got.

These 2 ounces of freeze-dried onions, I feel are very overpriced. The flavor is a bit Blaauw like the taste was boiled away. Adding these to my food products diluted the flavor even more. I guess you just cannot beat a freshly minced onion. I purchased these for an experiment I wanted to try, thinking they will always be at the ready (no spoilage) The only reason I recommend this product is the fact that others may have a different opinion and or use for them.

i buy green onions and by the time i need them they have gone bad these will work great i dont have to worry about them going bad. i you want them in a salad just put a few in a bowl with a little water let them sit a short while and its just like useing a regular green onion

I'm so happy. If I run out of red onions, I have an alternative. Finally! Red onions are my favorite. If the dish contains raw onion (like most salads I make). It's got to be red. If the onions in a dish are only lightly cooked, I usually go for red. I like yellow as well and have freeze dried yellow on hand and have for years. Now red - HOORAY. They are very nice quality and very dresh taste.

I like the convenience of having dried herbs in case I don't have any fresh ones. The taste of these is good %26 it works great in a pinch.

I put it on everything so the size of the bottom is perfect and I love the way it makes my food taste so I would definitely recommend anyone who puts this on everything like I do

It smelled a bit strong when I first opened the bottle. But onions are like that even when they're raw. Once I got them rehydrated and added to my dish, they were really tasty!

usually use fresh cilantro in ground beef to make taco meat. freeze dried cilantro keeps longer and when added while meat is cooking gives delicious flavor for you mexican seasoned meat.

it will work for a quick flavor but the real plant is so much better but the freeze dried will work when you don't have any fresh.

Very expensive for what it is. Taste is so so. The jar contents I received were all stuck together from (I think) just normal humidity. Good idea but, for the very high price, not worth it.
