This white knife block set comes with 12 knives (6 are steak knives) and 1 scissors with the knife block holder! I got this set to give as a gift and this set has everything you need! There is also a built in knife sharpener in the block holder! I like this set very much and the knives are very sharp! This is going to make a wonderful gift! I'm very happy I got this knife set and I highly recommend!
Read before buying: These knives are razor sharp. They're a bit smaller and thinner than standard size, which could actually be a good thing if you want to do delicate slicing, and/or have small hands. I find the knives to be more "nimble" than my standard heavy chef's knife, for example, when dealing with very delicate items like berries, tomatoes, zucchini, or bell peppers. What I use these knives for: exclusively fruits and vegetables on a bamboo chopping board, and fresh baked bread. I've used the knives on about 40 different produce items and the only one it struggled with (which would be the case with any knife) was a butternut squash - in that particular case my old heavy chef knife performed better. The long slicing knife glided very easily through a watermelon, because of its slim thickness. I imagine it would be good for deboning meat or other tasks which require more precision than heavy force. For vegetable/fruit prep, these knives are great. The bread knife is excellent. One concern I have: the painted knife surface. I've been using these knives for roughly a month, every day, multiple times a day (I cook 100% from scratch) and I have not notice any defects or failure of the painted surfaces. I suppose, if ever the paint starts to flake or shed, it would be very easy to scour away with some steel wool. The paint will also probably be an issue when the knives need sharpening. I have very large hands. (11" handspan) and for "me" the handles are a bit too small, and I do need to make sure my hands and the handles are dry to prevent slipping. For people with normal sized or smaller hands, these would fit perfectly. A note about washing: since I only cut fruits, vegetables, and bread, I simply rinse these knives with water and dry before replacing in the block. About the bolster: These knives have no bolster. So, for heavy duty applications, where blade control is priority, I would not recommend them. Summary - these are nimble, slim, light knives, best suited for fresh produce. They are a bit difficult to control where force is required, due to the complete lack of a bolster. So...if you're looking for a "fresh produce only" set of knives to avoid cross contamination with raw meat, I recommend them specifically for that purpose. Finally, I do not like the fact that these knives are painted, and I would suggest you clean them gently, and dry them immediately after use, avoiding the dishwasher entirely. 4.5/5 (for fresh produce and bread) Would have a been a 5/5 if they weren't painted. Will they last for a lifetime? I doubt it. I'll get a few years out of them before the paint starts to fail, i suspect, but I might be wrong on that point. The price is good, and the craftsmanship appears to be satisfactory. I say give them a try.
Really nice knife set the white is different but it looks nice sharp blades hope stays sharp for a long time I like that it comes with blade sharpening built in good product
I am hoping these will cut and help me to prepare chef like meals. It's a wonderful addition having a built-in knife sharpener. I received these today and washed them carefully, dried them and placed them in just the right spot.
the quality is a little bad, i noticed the paint wasn't good near the bottom and the emblem was off center and had white spot on it. the blade quality seems ok, I'm not a fan of coated non stick blades due to the chemicals but other than that they seem like solid knives.
I do wish the blades were sharper coming from the factory, and I like the fact that there is a sharpener on the block. I do not know how knives will hold up long-term. They do have a nice feel in the hand
I love this knife set! I love the color, love it has a built in sharper and the knives themselves are very sharp well made and will be put to good use! love them! Thank you!;
💁♀️an attractive looking set but they're just very sharp love the white color. It compliments my kitchen. The blades are white as well . Wish I could give this a higher rating…. I really like the look of this set but I have to say their average because of the lack of sharpness in the blades…🎀
It's not true to white at all. It's an off white color and that is not what I wanted. If that doesn't bother you then okay. Out the box the wood block scratches very easily which I don't care for. Because with use I can tell it might look dirty. It comes with a built in sharpener which is good. I can tell the knives themselves will leave scratches eventually. I would hand wash only just because of that. The knives are sharp .
This is a review by a Walmart reviewer. This Nulas Knife set in white is different than what I have seen being used in the past. I think that the quality is lacking and may not last long. I think for the price there are better options.
