So far I've done halibut and a chicken quarters and they both turned out well. It's nice because it doesn't use up much counter space and has several attachments, like a cage and vertical stands.

Several issues with cooking a whole chicken: You need to ensure the chicken is small enough to fit inside of the unit and not hitting the top. More importantly, after cooking several chickens, the common factor is that the top of the chicken is cooked as needed, but the lower part of the chicken is undercooked and even considered raw. I had to flip on chicken in the rack as the top was done, but when removing it from the rack, I found the lower portion medium rare as best which is not good for chicken. Had to flip the bird over on the rack and cook additional time. I now have the concerns that any food will cook at this variable, i. e. done on top, rare on the bottom. $100 for lessons learned as I will go back to the standard oven.

This thing has one main issue. The top of the cooker get way hotter than the bottom. To cook a thawed chicken, I put the timer on 90 minutes. When it was done, the chicken was cooked perfectly at the top, but when cutting into the bottom part, it was still raw. I didn't see anywhere that the chicken has to be flipped, but I'm going to have to start doing it to get the whole chicken cooked.

Used once, worked great. Bought in June 2025. Today is Aug 10, set it up with the chicken and it will not rotate. Made sure the doors were closed, chicken was loaded properly on the spit. Plugged in, set the timer , heat element works, just doesn't rotate.

Didn't get a book with product. . . box looks dirty. . the cooker was very dirty like it was used. . above the heating bars was dirty. . my wife was so mad she was cussing in Spanish. . returning tonight
