its possible that getting bcaa's in mail is better in winter. makes sense to store in cool area too.
First off, strong odor and very salty taste. Do not think of getting this if you want to mix with just water(unbearably salty). I'm sure the ingredients are pure but my review is only based on the unflavored bcaa. Quite possible this would be better suited inside a mixed protein shake.
Pure clean BCAA's all have a similar somewhat unpleasant odor, so I expected the smell I got and I was pleased; as a result I new it was pure and clean. I had previously been spending 4x's the amount on another product because it was pure and clean Until I stumbled upon this. These have the exact same odor as the ones I got through my nutritionist and paid 4x's the amount for. If you don't like the smell or taste then buy BCAA's with artificial preservatives and flavoring, CHEMICALS, that they use to disguise the natural smell and taste. I add a scoop to my protein shake and I can't even taste it! It's great! I HIGHLY recommend! Very pleased to save myself over $100 for basically the exact same product :)
This BCAA seems like good stuff . I've used Core BCAAs for a while now, and I bought this for my 72 y/o outdoorsman type dad who was getting sore and fatigued after exercising. He mixes it in his coffee in the morning and said its not noticeable. He said it has a slight mellowing effect to the taste. After about 3 weeks, he said he isn't taking any OTC meds for soreness, and can get up and going in the morning less fatigued.
I know that almost every reviewer here mentioned how bad it tastes and that it is what it is... But I just want to really warn people - it is bitter and absolutely disgusting, you can try hiding this by mixing it into a shake, but after you've experienced this taste once, no covering it up will ever work. I want to puke every time I even think about it I forgot to wash my shaker right away once and now this nasty smell is just lingering. I tried soaking it in vinegar, it didn't work. I tried soaking in it bleach - it didn't work either! I am about to just throw away the damn shaker, it smells like death no matter what I try..
This is my first time using BCAA. I had no idea that "unflavored" means disgusting. I read other reviews to make sure it wasn't spoiled and was supposed to taste super bitter. Well, that's apparently, nothing is wrong with it. I will continue to use it in my post-workout protein smoothies. I had no issues with clumping because I blended it right after adding. Only time will tell about the benefits. So only 3 stars because of taste and untested benefits so far.
I thought i would try the flavorless and it was a horrible mistake. I can't even take this stuff it tastes so bad. smells awful too. I'm gonna have to buy some flavored and mix it up or something. definitely stick to one of the flavors. this is one undrinkable.
In the past few years that I have purchased multiple supplies of Pre workouts and BCAAs this is the first time that not only was my package opened but the seal was cracked and not only was the seal cracked but the BCAA powder was spilling out the of the package and the paper seal was opened slightly as well. Where's the quality control? What's going on here. See pictures attached.
I bought unflavored BCAA Complex Powder. It is a very pure product, it contains only the Amino Acid mixture in the ingredients list. I was trying to cut out artificial sweeteners by buying this product versus products like extendBCAA which are usually sucralose sweetened and flavored. But when I received this product I opened it and the initial smell was very off putting, but I bought 35 dollars of it, so I mixed it up in a bottle of water and the first few sips tasted so bad I could not stomach it. Then I tried a serving in a optimum nutrition shake I usually believe is over sweetened. The initial taste of this was just as bad. The product was so tart and overbearing it overpower even the taste of cake batter. I wanted it to be good soooo bad. But at the end of the day I have a tub of nasty smelling/tasting powder worth 35 bucks in my pantry...
I hate to say it but, this is the worst tasting non flavored supplement I've ever tasted. Mixes good but is very hard for me to down, it's that bad. Although it's not gag Worthy, I will not be buying this product again. I'll be sticking with musclepharm bcaa products. I only wish I didn't lose the money.
